Department Description:

Tommy Hilfiger Menswear is a global business comprised of the Sportswear, Tailored & Sport Performance ranges as well as Special Project collections. The product is designed, sourced and produced through our Amsterdam Headquarters and is distributed in all Tommy Hilfiger retail and ecommerce channels globally, in all regions.

Tommy Hilfiger Menswear division is one of the main business drivers within Tommy Hilfiger. Based in the Amsterdam European head office the Menswear team is split into 5 teams: Design, Merchandise, Product Development, Supply Chain and Business Operations. The 5 teams work together in an informal setting on creating superbly styled and high-end quality product.

Tommy Hilfiger Men's sportswear presents 4 times per year. Tommy Hilfiger Men's Sportswear is recognizable as being Classic, American and Cool with its own twist.

The Role

Reporting into the Knits Design Manager, the role will work across knits product. Working closely with other knits team members and cross functionally. Supporting the direction and evolution of the knits product. Working on product in the full life cycle from conception and research phases to SMS and showroom delivery.

Position Description and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for knits product within the Tommy Hilfiger Mens Business Unit
  • Reports to the Design Manager of Knits
  • Creative - spotting opportunity and understanding the latest ideas that are on brand and relevant to your product groups
  • Working closely with key stakeholders: Product development and merchandising teams
  • 'Hands on' mentality
  • Understands how to work to range plan
  • Must be able to link fashion, design and creativity to commercial targets
  • Executes designs and works closely with their product developer
  • Global trend awareness
  • Hands on working with developers to realise product to a high standard
  • Respecting the divisional calendar
  • Preparing presentations
  • European travel for research and far east vendor visits
  • Supports making presentations
  • Supports making collection overviews


Requirements:
  • -BA/MA or similar course in Fashion Design or Menswear
  • Minimum 5+ years related experience in (a) leading Men's brand(s)
  • Commercial mentality with consumer insights
  • Solid knowledge of garment specifications, fitting and pattern making
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Demonstrable high computer skills in Illustrator/Photoshop - as we tech pack to deadline
  • Ability to translate trends into a commercial collection with a contemporary handwriting
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal as English is the working language of the company
  • Open communicator and able to work with a number of personalities and nationalities
  • Capable of working in a pacy and changing environment
  • Willing to travel to Europe & Asia for supplier/vendor visits
