Position Overview

The Global Procurement Manager - Japan, has two direct areas of responsibility:

1. Lead Source to Pay initiatives within Japan, defining Global Procurement processes, implementing Source to Pay technologies, and driving organizational transformation

2. Develop and implement the Japan procurement strategy for indirect goods and services, executing sourcing processes to evaluate supplier capabilities, awarding business, implementing contractual agreements and measuring contractual compliance

The Global Procurement Manager - Japan, has two direct areas of responsibility:

1. Lead Source to Pay initiatives within Japan, defining Global Procurement processes, implementing Source to Pay technologies, and driving organizational transformation

2. Develop and implement the Japan procurement strategy for indirect goods and services, executing sourcing processes to evaluate supplier capabilities, awarding business, implementing contractual agreements and measuring contractual compliance

Key Accountabilities
  • Source to Pay Implementation: act as Project Manager for Source to Pay implementation in Japan; drive design decisions and localization needs; co-own project scope and deliverables with implementation partners; manage solution testing; issue resolution, and cutover activities
  • Drive Japan supplier enablement activities during implementation, including communications, training, and supplier support
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and implement change strategies; act as key agent of change for Source-to-Pay; identify communication and training needs and support development of communication and training materials
  • Ongoing Source-to-Pay management: Identify and implement process and system enhancements, deploy training strategy for local teams, act as local user support point person, ensure compliance to Procurement policies and maintain compliance controls
  • Ongoing Supplier Enablement: Support ongoing Supplier Enablement needs for Japan, including supplier support for invoice submission and onboarding, development and execution of supplier training, and catalog management
  • Lead planning and execution of Japan category management and strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect spend. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop category specifications consistent with business needs and procurement strategy. Conduct data analytics to develop business cases that will enable the business to deliver cost savings.
  • Develop and administer contractual agreements in collaboration with stakeholders and the legal department. Continuously evaluate the supply market. Conduct supplier management activities and establish supplier performance metrics

RequiredQualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in a professional procurement function in Japan
  • Experience sourcing multiple indirect spend categories including goods and services
  • Experience with Source-to-Pay process optimization
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Abilty to interact with all levels of Management
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Proficient in English and Japanese
