Assistant Buyer - Denim

We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our ambitious Buying & Planning organization, helping to maximize and grow global sales potential across the Commercial channels. Your main responsibility and ownership will be over denim five pocket and denim ready-to-wear category for Acne Studios, to grow and optimize sales globally. The role includes product selection, seasonal trading and detailed size analysis that in turn drive the business forward and optimize the sales and stock position. You will also assist the international buying team during the seasonal buying period and with administration and ongoing support on weekly basis.

The work environment at Acne Studios is fast-paced, creative and energetic; no day is ever the same. You will be based at Acne Studios Head Office in Stockholm. Some travel may be required seasonally.

Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

• Analyzing weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales & taking appropriate profitable actions for the denim department and for all commercial channels to build and grow the business for Acne Studios
• Contributes to seasonal category planning, implement range building and distribution strategy in relation to global stock optimization while securing local needs in relation to brand, sales and store capacity
• Global mindset but strong local knowledge required. Able to interpret fit needs per region.
• Successfully buy, trade, and manage the denim department profitably and always with the Acne Studios customer in mind
• Conducting in depth sales and size analysis on specific regions and/or products to capture any opportunity in your department
• Collaborating and supporting the wider retail network on product requests and market feedback
• Tracking deliveries and store distribution for the launch of collections and special products
• Building the product, collection and training material shared with the wider business
• Close co-operation with Production and Merchandising team on in-season performance and repeat needs
• Optimize and review best practice for category buying, aiming for constant optimization and successful results

Key competencies needed

To be successful in this function, we believe that you have a solid knowledge of the fashion industry with preferred experience in denim and proven experience within buying.

• BA or MA degree in Business / Economics / Fashion
• Excellent comprehension of written and spoken English
• Highly proficient in MS Office applications - particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Previous buying experience of 1-2 years within denim departments and/or RTW
• Able to work independently with strong collaboration skills
• Sales focused and business driven with strong analytical skills
• An innovative and forward team player with sound communication skills
• Agile and flexible and at the same time structured and organized
• Being able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
