About the Role

The Associate Visual Manager is responsible for driving the visual standards across the India Market across all store formats. This role is office based in India with no direct reports but will support and coach the India Franchisee team in delivering the Gap Inc. visual proposition to the brand aesthetic and standard. In collaboration with the regional team, this role will support with store layout development and the creation of locally specific visual guidance, applying VM commercial expertise to support the franchisee in meeting and exceeding identified financial goals or targets across a rapidly expanding portfolio of stores. This role calls for an agile and organized candidate, who is able to prioritize multiple competing demands and high value work with pace and efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Uses appropriate tools and resources to develop, validate and launch multiple store formats and points of distribution which meet capacity and tiering targets in partnership with Store Design.
  • Supports and deploys the functional strategy, in partnership with the Regional Visual Manager, supporting the localization of brand assets whilst working with the brand aesthetic.
  • Develops locally specific visual guidance across all store formats to support with consistent, brand standard level of execution across the India market
  • Knows KPI's and goals, how store formats are performing to those goals & has action plans in place to achieve results in areas of influence.
  • Maintains awareness of relevant marketplace competition and trends and reacts appropriately through visual solutions & focuses on supporting partners to improve KPI's through effective product presentation and store merchandising.
  • Coaches franchisee team on Gap ways of working, tools and processes, building mutually beneficial relationships to drive brand equity.


Who You Are

  • Established visual merchandising experience at multi store or Regional level in a similar retail environment. Wholesale VM experience would be advantageous.
  • Strength in coaching, influencing and relationship building skills across internal and external teams.
  • Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Excellent at multi-tasking, effective time management skills + ability to manage / prioritize workload.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • InDesign and Photoshop skills advantageous.
  • Must be able to & willing to travel domestically and internationally
