Job Details

  • Creating a product that satisfies design, customers, and manufacturers by being highly passionate about product innovation & product quality
  • Taking ownership of the product and all issues related to it through evaluating the quality & costs and through recommending and discussing product changes to ensure that customer needs and design objectives are always met
  • Follow the critical path and help to ensure that development and production deadlines are met, flagging issues early to relevant parties, helping to avoid and resolve problems and communicating changes to the team
  • Creating and updating Tech Packs from 1st toile to production fitting, ensuring that all data is up-to-date and correct, and tracking any changes
  • Maintain consistency of quality and fit across all collections, updating and introducing standards and procedures through the supplier manual in close liaison with Senior Technician & Quality Assurance Officer
  • Follow up fabric or garment quality issues with Design Team or PD Team
  • Measuring all Toiles, Collection Samples and PPS samples(when possible) prior to each fitting
  • Weekly updating of style production tracker and/or PLM
  • Fitting and approving final pre-production size range fit samples in 3D and one larger size in physical sample with design and updating comments and measurements for pattern cutters and grader prior to sending out for production
  • Following up pattern amendments made at PP fittings with pattern cutters, and supporting production with any technical queries of how to make or finish garments
  • Follow up fabric or garment quality issues with Design and Development team
  • Liaising with different teams in Istanbul and NYC to coordinate different stages of production, also following up delivery deadlines and continuously finding ways to improve the finishing to be more cost efficient but also more refined and in brand language
  • Seasonal review with design and sales team on fit requirements and finishing
  • Seasonal market research in fit, sizing and finishes
  • Work on developing brand specific finishing details to continuously elevate the product in close liaison with the design team and Senior technician
  • Support Senior technician with managing quality feedback from our showroom and our W/S client to appropriate action to implement improvement
  • Generally, ensure quality delivered is as expected per collection
  • Report to Senior Designer, Development Manager and Process development manager on any issues with both development & production
  • Supporting Design and Development as required

As such, all the clothes are produced in SAFiYAA’s private atelier where each item is hand-sewn from start to finish by the same traditionally trained artisan who takes great pride in his work to ensure that the garment is as beautiful on the inside as it is the outside.

In addition to elevated daywear, SAFiYAA also creates cocktail attire and red carpet wear. Living in London with her husband, 2 children and Weimaraner dog, Daniela Karnuts was born in Munich, Germany and launched SAFiYAA in 2011.
