Summary:

This position provides tactical and strategic leadership and support to the Production teams. The position participates in the short and long-term strategic planning process and keeps all members of the leadership team informed on issues that may affect the daily operation of the business. This position should partner strategically with the SVP of Product Management, Design, Merchandising, and the Logistics teams. *This is an in office position and travel will be required*

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the managing of the supply chain-production processes ensuring they are designed to optimize costs and competitiveness in the global economy. This includes Production, Quality Assurance, Raw Materials Sourcing & Procurement, and Product Development for Footwear and Accessories
  • Proactively manage the purchasing of long lead-time materials in partnership with Fabric Purchasing and Merchandising
  • Advise on and influence the seasonal corporate product development calendar and enforce adherence to all major milestones
  • Participate in the Development processes and procedures to successfully develop and deliver products on time which meet the design, quality, and value mission
  • Approve and manage the spending on the production budgets to ensure they are in-line with the Merchandising line plans and meet the budgeted growth plans
  • Build strong partnerships with raw materials and finished goods suppliers to ensure vendor direction is in­-line with the company’s direction and goals
  • Expand/Improve our current vendor base globally; ongoing assessment of the factories base with the right skillsets and pricing to produce our products
  • Partner with the VP of logistic to evaluate custom opportunities and assess made-in
  • Responsible for communicating and updating Corporate Sales and Planning teams and the logistic team on deliveries and any associated challenges. Make strategic decisions around shipping challenges to resolve concerns.
  • Maintain budgetary control on overhead spending and CAPEX to ensure compliance with company objectives, procedures, and goals
  • Develop strategy to meet Gross margin targets
  • Develop plans for the efficient use of raw materials to produce a finished product in the most effective and cost-efficient manner in partnership with service providers/factories
  • Oversee an efficient and effective handoff from Development to Production in partnership with the SVP of Product Management
  • Help Production team manage production calendar and factory schedule to ensure on-time deliveries that meet quality standards
  • Responsible for satisfying customer and stockholders’ expectation on product cost, development, quality, and timely delivery
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges, including identifying profit-improvement and asset management opportunities, and recommending alternatives on how to improve business
  • Communicate regularly with direct reports and cross functional partners about department issues, regulatory updates, and the Strategic Plan
  • Conduct annual salary and performance review for direct reports
  • Fill any open positions and address any employee relations concerns in business area in timely manner in partnership with VP HR
  • Responsible for managing social and regulatory compliance process for company
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO, CFO, or Board of Directors

 

 

Knowledge and Requirements Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in associated field and/or equivalent business experience
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in a senior level management position in an entrepreneurial company that sources and markets luxury products
  • Verifiable exposure to global supply chain
  • Effective cross functional communicator
  • Ability to manage staff at varied skillsets
  • Proven track record of success in strategic planning, manufacturing, engineering, process design and control, facilities management, quality assurance, production planning, supply chain management, product costing, and process improvement
  • Strong leadership, communication, motivational, management and mentoring skills
  • Strong project and time management skill
  • Established relationships with global factory and vendor communities
  • Decisive, self-starter with strong ability to negotiate and advocate for company

 

 

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $225,000 to $300,000, which represents a range commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills required.
