Position Title: Associate , Accounts Payable

Reports to: Director, Accounts Payable

Location: Tokyo

Primary Purpose:

As a professional accountant, this person will support company's payment processes for Japan brands (Coach and Kate Spade) including offices and stores, and handle accounting and booking of this area. This position will work as a team of Japan Accounts Payable team in Tapestry APAC Control team so as to provide accounting related services to Tapestry Japan around payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accounts payable function for all the brands in Tapestry Japan (Coach and Kate Spade), in US GAAP accounting
  • Daily process: Travels & expenses (SAP Concur), Vendor invoice payments (SAP Ariba), Other payments including tax, Input VAT calculation and reconciliation, Tax related document preparation (withholding tax, annual tax reports, etc.), cash equivalents control
  • Monthly closing: Document preparation of cash equivalents count, Balance sheet reconciliation, AP aging check
  • Internal control: documentation, internal/external audit support
  • W orking/coordinating/supporting with various business partners in Tokyo office and stores


Education/Qualifications:

  • At least 3 -year working experience in Accounting (experience in Retail business is plus)
  • At least intermediate skills in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot, etc.) and PowerPoint/Word
  • Japan official bookkeeping skills test grade 2 (Nissho Boki 2 kyu)
  • Passionate to support our retail business
  • Self-starter, proactively works on new projects, prioritizes tasks to achieve the best performance
  • Fluent Japanese, intermediate English (reading/writing)
  • Enjoying working in diversity and inclusion culture
  • Knowledge and experience of USGAAP is plus, USCPA is plus
  • W orking experiences in accounts payable, travel & expense, and/or SAP Concur is plus
  • Experience in SAP S/4 is plus
