Senior Consignment Manager UK (F/M/D)

Fixed-term contract of 12 months starting in March, based in London

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Consignment Manager UK to steer, develop and grow the UK consignment business and accomplish our growth ambitions in the UK. This is a 12 months fixed term maternity cover.

The role will be based out of the UK and can be remote, however proximity to London is essential. You will be reporting to our Head of Global Consignment, based in Paris.

The Global Consignment team offers our VIP customers a white glove selling service: We manage everything from collections, authentication and pricing, to photography, storage, and shipments. Over 2023 we will be launching new service tiers, as well as replatforming our current operational processes.

As we are going through a period of change, applicants need to be confident leaders with strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of growing a business. They should be self-motivated networkers and skilled Business Developers, ideally with their own black book of high net worth clients.

What you'll do

Commercial & Strategic
  • Define the Consignment UK commercial strategy to meet yearly GMV targets, drive for seller acquisition and achieve our ambitious growth targets for 2023
  • Lead the Consignment UK sales team: Manage 1 Key Account Manager and hire up to 2 additional headcount during the year
  • Define a calendar of strategic partnerships, events & campaigns in line with your BP
  • Report on your market's performance, take action in case of underperformance and share results globally on a weekly basis
  • Contribute to improvements of the overall Consignment service - identify improvement potential, create business cases/ white papers to unlock needed resources

Business Development & Clienteling
  • Define local strategies to grow the UK Consignment customer base, identify new seller acquisition channels and nurture repeat business
  • From conception to execution, build new commercial partnerships
  • Onboard & develop relationships with new elite sellers through your own personal network in order to drive top luxury product to the site
  • Be a brand ambassador and represent the business during at-home appointments with top clients, selecting their best luxury goods and offering expert guidance on the service
  • Account manage select top VIP sellers

Operational & Cross- functional
  • Build a strong relationship with the UK operational warehouse team, ensuring weekly and monthly forecasts are accurate and items handled within our expected leadtimes
  • Work hand in hand with other relevant teams to deliver the UK Consignment strategy in line with the wider company objectives (UK Marketing team, UK Country Lead, Global Brand Partnerships)


Who you are
  • +6 years of professional experience in the luxury retail industry or within a client facing job in one of the luxury industries
  • You are a luxury industry expert, with very good knowledge of the needs of a luxury client
  • You have a large UK network of potential clients and/or an ability to build networks and referrals very quickly
  • You are organised and solution-driven: you create processes, give structure and develop tools to support your business
  • You have a basic understanding of (resale) pricing of luxury items
  • You have a strong will to overachieve your ambitious targets while remaining calm and offering a high level of service and attention to detail
  • You have excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
  • You're confident with using tools such as G-suite, Salesforce, CRM
