Purpose:

The Internal Control Assistant will work closely with the Internal Controller to continue to build the newly established department, that helps protect the MB legacy and safeguards the business. This role will have the opportunity to help shape the function, work closely with most of MB’s stakeholders, from commercial and product teams to legal and IT, and will support the development of the internal control methodology, as well as the processes of the group functions.

The overall purpose of the role will be to provide support to the Internal Controller and assist in monitoring the Compliance Programme and Risk Management activities of the Group, including preparation of files and presentations, data analytics, policy and procedure reviews, compliance project support and Regulatory/ Risk/ Compliance research.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining, monitoring and improving the Group Governance, Risk and Compliance actions tracker, ensuring responsible stakeholders are reminded of upcoming deadlines and informing the Internal Controller of any deadlines not met;
  • Regularly collating information relating to internal compliance activities and compiling files, documentation, reports and presentations for review of the Internal Controller;
  • Supporting in the review, updates and publication of policies and procedures;
  • Minuting meetings, producing analytics and statistics for visual presentations; and
  • Performing ad hoc Regulatory/ Risk/ Compliance research activities on behalf of the Internal Controller.
  • Any other tasks as required.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role (assurance, compliance, regulatory or audit role would be beneficial);
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to show initiative and confidently contributes with new ideas;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint;
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy (form, numeric and grammatical) and organisational skills;
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal departments and stakeholders at all levels;
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure and take responsibilities; and
  • Positive attitude and team player.

Skills and Experience Beneficial, but not Essential:

  • Some understanding of the regulatory environment, trading standards and/ or product safety, in particular around Retail and Luxury Fashion,(Product, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations);
  • Some exposure to best practice compliance and governance frameworks/ methodologies, compliance monitoring and risk assessments;
  • Broad understanding of organisational structures and business processes; and/ or
  • Previous experience in the Luxury Fashion industry.
