The Tax Director will play a critical role in managing the Company's tax compliance and income tax provision function. While primarily focusing on federal, state and local tax matters, this position will have broad exposure to all areas of taxes and be involved in planning projects to support the rapid growth of the Company. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a history of relevant work experience with strong technical and communication skills, ability to manage projects and work cross-functionally to achieve outstanding results.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Manage the preparation and review of the annual and quarterly income tax provision calculation and all relevant SEC financial statement disclosures
  • Analyze business and financial forecasts to provide insights on future effective tax rates and cash taxes
  • Manage the process of identifying, analyzing, and documenting uncertain tax positions
  • Manage the Company's federal, state and local tax compliance, including leading the coordination of internal teams and third-party advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of the required compliance
  • Prepare and/or review the quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions
  • Coordinate Federal,state and local tax inquiries including examinations and audits with taxing authorities
  • Perform tax research, proactively monitor legislative change, analyze, and communicate the related impact to the Company
  • Participate in US Federal and state tax planning projects to optimize the overall tax profile and cash taxes along with supporting business expansion, acquisitions, and integration planning
  • Actively partner across the organization to stay current with business developments and identify, assess, and communicate related tax implications
  • Drive continuous improvements of process and procedures via the use of technology solutions; and
  • Maintain and refine tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act requirements.

Requirements:
  • 10-12+ years of Big 4 public accounting and/or SEC registrant tax experience with strong knowledge of accounting for income taxes, corporate income tax compliance and audits (federal, state, and local), SOX 404 controls, U.S. GAAP, and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related major is required;
  • CPA and/or Masters degree in Taxation is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, identify, and address complex domestic and cross-border tax matters
  • Experience with public, multinational companies in the retail/e-commerce industry preferred.
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of tax related matters, along with a well-rounded finance and accounting acumen.
  • International tax exposure preferred
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to conduct research using various resources and effectively communicate results
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) is required
  • Experience with tax provision software and NetSuite ERP system a plus.

FIGS Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range
  • At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's base salary range is between $136,500 and $195,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
