The Manager of PDPM will lead and facilitate all aspects of the Product Development Process to develop product for complex level projects to meet committed launch dates. Cross-functional activities include project team building and management, implementation of design concepts, timeline building and management, product approval documentation, and final project performance evaluation.

The Manager of PDPM will manage the activities of the Analyst(s) to support complex level projects as well as manage rudimentary level and resourcing projects. The Manager of PDPM will support divisional system improvements and process implementation.

Project Communication Management

The Manager will build partnerships within Product Development, Category Management, Design, Inventory Management, Strategic Sourcing, Jewelry Supply Planning and Gemstone-Diamond Acquisition to ensure that all project objectives are achieved.

S/he will provide prompt team cross - functional status meetings and reports and facilitate timely project team communication. S/he will provide organized and pertinent information at design meeting reviews and provide prompt project information in support of strategic initiatives to HJBD, Legal, Marketing, and Publicity as needed. The Manager will manage internal/external vendor communication.

Project Team Management

The Manager of PDPM will manage the team and projects through the phases of development. S/he will define project team roles and responsibilities, including leading and providing project vision to team members. The Manager will manage conflict, change, priorities, and scope shifts throughout the project development process as well as identify and assess project risks. S/he will establish and communicate product specifications and manage estimates, cost changes and final costs for development projects. The Manager will manage product documentation in TPM/Excel.

Project System & Process Management & Improvement

The Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of project data in TPM and other applications. S/he will maintain process discipline and support divisional standards as well as develop innovative solutions to project problems.

The Manager will develop and meet join PD/CM expectations, commitments for product launches and marketing initiatives and establish project milestones, specifically developing the project plan and work breakdown. S/he will manage project management software and/or project tracking formats. S/he will identify and initiate resource tradeoffs in the interest of project efficiency and meeting committed launch dates. The Manager will utilize project software (TPM), to manage projects and in meeting timeline objectives.

Expense & Inventory Management

The Manager will plan and monitor project budgets for tooling, modeling, and other development costs. S/he will plan and monitor project associated administrative expenses and manage and maintain the security of new samples, borrowed merchandise, and loose stones.

Required Qualifications:
  • Prior Product Development/Project Management experience, preferably in a jewelry product
  • Ability to manage 3-5 year timelines and strong overall project management
  • Proven ability to lead others and function effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic Gemstone knowledge; Graduate Gemologist a plus
  • Overall industry knowledge for product category
  • Overall product development manufacturing process knowledge
  • Complete working knowledge of Tiffany & Co. merchandise information systems
  • Complete working knowledge of Tiffany & Co. operations

The hiring range for this position ranges from $107,100-$151,200. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience. Management is also eligible for bonus.
