The Role
- The Assistant Manager, Email Marketing will be responsible for ongoing deployment of Bergdorf Goodman's Email strategy, focusing on growing Email engagement and sales. This role will report to the Manager of Email Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Own campaign setup and execution, coordinating needs and approvals with cross-functional teams and ESP to QA and successfully deploy emails on time without errors
- Request and manage deadlines for creative assets with creative team, sharing specs, best practices, aligning messaging with seasonal calendar and relevant landing pages
- Set up and pass CRM audience segment data to ESP to show content based on purchase history and/or interest
- Organize and save relevant information on shared drive
- Refine processes to improve productivity across partnerships with Creative, CRM, Product & Merchandising teams
- Support Bergdorf Goodman's Email Marketing strategy and execution for testing roadmap to grow email subscribers, customer eng agement (CTR), conversion rates and sales
- Keep customers informed of new designer product launches, special promotions, store offerings
- Enhance Email strategy through ongoing optimizations and testing of creative/design, messaging, frequency, subject lines, time of day, day of week strategy in partnership with creative team, sharing best practices and leveraging test learnings to optimize engagement
- Drive ongoing testing amongst key customers to grow engagement, such as new, lapsed and at risk in partnership with CRM Team
- Manage ESP relationship, weekly agenda and status calls
- Create and share email campaign briefs with all details to launch, including QA due dates, deployment day, time of day, tags/tracking, disclaimer, segmentation and landing pages
- Set up campaign details in ESP platforms
- QA and problem solve as needed for successful deployment of campaigns on time without errors
- After campaign deploys, monitor performance, pulling and compiling reporting weekly and monthly
- Manage to monthly Email sales forecast, determining solutions and optimizations proactively to meet goals
- Share learnings with cross-functional partners ongoing, including top performing emails, CoOp email performance
- Establish and communicate benchmarks with stakeholders
- Act as Email expert, communicating and ensuring teams adhere to best practices
- Closely monitor and share competitive trends, sharing new ideas and testing opportunities with email team
- Manage vendor and platform relationships
- Monitor Email file health, data integrity and other industry best practices
- Optimize preference center to ensure customers receive Emails based on preferred content and weekly frequency
- Closely monitor subscriber growth, deliverability and unsubscribe rate, proactively sharing ideas with manager to grow and keep customers subscribed to emails
- Support Email team with other needs (including billing and invoices monthly, strategy and product team partnership)
Who we are looking for
- 2-4 years' experience managing execution of email marketing campaigns in platforms (in house or at an ESP agency)
- Hands on campaign creation
- Familiarity with ESP partners and platforms, specifically Epsilon, Cheetah and Movable Ink
- 2+ years of basic HTML knowledge preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, manage deadlines and prioritize
- Exceptional partnership and collaboration with teams including CRM, Analytics, Merchandising, Site, Product , Creative and ESP
- Exceptional project management and organization skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to manage teams and multiple campaigns at once to deadlines
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, understanding of Email KPIs (unique CTR, open rates, deliverability, conversion rates, unsubscribe rate)
- Understanding of industry benchmarks to meet goals
- Familiarity with Adobe and directly pulling reporting from ESP platforms and Tableau
- Delivers reporting and insights with full understanding of the "why"
- Ability to problem solve technical, process and partnership challenges as needed
- Passion for Email Marketing, monitoring competition and trends to bring new ideas that will drive LTV and sales
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure ESP partners are clear of needs, deadlines and campaign details
- Willing to work flexible hours to see through campaign completion; Pacific Time Zone preferred
