JOB PURPOSE

To manage the archive collections and departmental operations of an integral business function which is of high value and largely irreplaceable to ensure the assets are safeguarded for now and future generations, ensuring that the Archive is efficient in its processes. The postholder will also provide an enquiry and collections support to the business notably Design, Product and Creative teams, as well as Brand Protection on trademark evidence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collections Management
  • Manage the day-to-day collections management across all archive spaces working with an array of media including clothing, accessories, objects, paper and film ensuring that assets are appropriately stored and preserved for the long- term undertaking risk mitigation and contingency plans. This includes cataloguing, pest control, storage, planning for adverse events such as fire to ensure that we have a safeguarded archive collection for future generations.


Collaboration
  • Independently research and build stories on new acquisitions conducting external research connecting with relevant third- party organisations and sources and communicate this with the wider Archive team and the business, where appropriate.
  • Oversee the Archive loan process which the Archive Assistant executes - providing guidance, stakeholder management and solutions to Design/Product/Styling given the Archive is 300 miles away and the need is often instant.
  • Deliver the Archive loan ways of working presentations to new joiners in Design.
  • Be a brand ambassador and represent the Archive including at internal events and external client facing events
  • Deliver Archive presentations to internal teams as and when required


General
  • Manage the Archive Assistant and ensure they are motivated and delivering against their objectives
  • Communicate in different ways - via writing, visually and orally - appropriate history stories to the business that
    can be used on global platforms to elevate our brand storytelling
  • Responsible for regular checks on agreed platforms (e.g., EBay) for archive procurement - flag potentials
    with Line Manager
  • Manage the department's Purchase Orders and keep a track of transport spend
  • To support any related archive requirements
  • Willing and flexible to travel
  • Holidays are not taken at crucial times throughout the year


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Proven fluency in CMSsystems
  • PC literate(Office2010:Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/The Bridge)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to analysing data
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills working to tight deadlines
  • Pro-active and results driven approach
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Adaptable to a busy and changing environment
  • Awareness of luxury fashion industry
  • Will demonstrate outstanding professionalism in both attitude and conduct
