DESIGN INTERNSHIP AT MALONE SOULIERS

A great opportunity for a footwear student to join the Design and Product Development team in a fast growing, luxury fashion footwear environment.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills and be proficient in using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Excel, and ideally 3D programming as well. The candidate should be a competent sketcher; being able to draw both by hand and in CAD, and also possess good technical knowledge of construction, patterns, materials and ideally of the footwear manufacturing processes. The candidate will also be expected to assist in bags development and design.

KEY TASKS

• Working alongside the Design/Product development team, the candidate will:
• Assist in creating all colour-ups and pattern placements for the season.
• Prepare technical specification sheets for factories.
• Assist in finalizing the season’s colour and material cards.
• Prepare seasonal line sheets.
• Create design lineups and boards for meetings and presentations.
• Book courier services and coordinate shipments of raw materials/samples to factories.
• Assist with sketching as and when required.
• Organise and archive material and colour cards by season/supplier.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES

• Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Proficiency in English and Italian preferred
• Knowledge and interest in footwear product, leather goods, and current trends
• Highly organized; positive and pro-active attitude
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy

LENGTH: The position is available immediately. 6-12 months minimum, long term preferred.
