Management Accountant (Part-Qualified)

Job Description:

This role will have overall responsibility for the full month end process from closing all ledgers to final reported result and departmental reviews.  This role will support the financial controller  in operational duties as and when required. 

 

The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for detail and will also have a can do attitude and the ability to look at a problem from a different perspective to come up with a solution.

 

This role is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to learn and grow alongside the business own strategic growth plans, taking on a broad range of responsibilities.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Full management and control of the month end process and reporting

 

 

  • Preparing and analysing cost by department with budget holders

 

 

  • Balance sheet reconciliations completed and actioned

 

 

  • Year end preparation and audit support

 

 

  • Retail analysis for store and ecom site, obtaining insight from department heads

 

 

  • Monthly review of all inventory levels and work with logistics team to improve accuracy

 

 

  • Preparation of quarterly UK VAT return

 

 

  • Managing petty cash and company credit cards

 

 

  • Support for ongoing projects and required analysis to improve decision making

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Ideally will be a part qualified accountant with experience in the luxury retail company

 

 

  • experience in process development and improvement

 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, who builds positive relationships

 

 

  • Excellent attention to detail

 

 

  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines

 

 

  • Ability to problem solve and work in a logical manner

 

 

  • High levels of personal motivation, a positive attitude

 

  • Strong Excel and IT system skills

 

 

  • Experience with SAGE50, SAP Concur and Zedonk would be a benefit.

 

  • Previous experience to all key responsibilities is essential. 

 

 

  • Ability to combine challenges of working in a creative and spontaneous environment where each day is different
