Job Title: Manager - Corporate Tax

Primary Purpose: The Manager, Corporate Tax position manages key aspects of Tapestry's global tax function in partnership with the Tax Directors and other team members. The role provides instrumental support in managing Asia Corporate Tax compliance and supporting the quarterly and annual global tax provisions. The role reports into the Senior Manager of Tax based in Shanghai, China.

  • Manage Asia compliance preparation in conjunction with the external providers including gathering information and ensuring the proper support is documented.
  • Maintain tax calendar and ensure that all tax filings are timely filed, leveraging thorough knowledge of Asia tax laws
  • Support in tax reporting for statutory filings
  • Support in preparing the quarterly and annual global tax provision in accordance with the rules outlined in ASC740
  • Partner with the US and Asia accounting teams to ensure they provide timely and accurate information necessary to properly report Asia income taxes
  • Partner with Asia accounting teams and external providers to ensure the properly turnover tax filings in Mainland China
  • Perform necessary tax research to support/understand Asia income tax positions and the impact those positions have on the global effective tax rate
  • Assist in defending the Company during Asia tax examinations including gathering detail for information requests and working with external providers to prepare responses.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the tax accounting and compliance environments to streamline processes
  • Stay current with accounting and tax law changes for assigned jurisdictions to analyze any potential impact to the Company
  • Maintain effective key controls and proper level of SOX tax documentation
  • Support Asia control team on the ad-hoc projects
  • Partner with cross functions to find tax solutions to support the business needs
  • Partner with Asia Accounting team to deal with the daily queries from tax bureau, statistic bureau, bank and etc. for China Mainland entities
  • Support Corporate TP team for the Transfer Pricing disclosure for Asia entities.

An outstanding professional will have...
  • Degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years of experience with a blend of Big 4 and corporate industry experience preferred
  • Retail industry experience a plus
  • Public company SEC reporting experience preferred
  • Strong technical tax research experience
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools a plus
  • Experience with OneSource a plus
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
