JOB PURPOSE

As a trusted finance business partner, you will use your finance expertise, connecting seamlessly with your Business and Finance colleagues, to provide commercial finance support, influencing decisions or strategy to deliver bottom-line benefits.

This role should be viewed as a co-pilot to the Business budget holders, pro-actively looking for opportunities specifically but not exclusively to in the Commercial, Digital and D&A/BI IT areas for all type of cost : People and BAU as well as Investment propositions (Capex and Opex) and Depreciation

Drive and control the overall IT Actual / Budget & Forecast / 4YRS Strat Plan exercises including supporting the Sr Manager on executive reports and presentations for ITLT and Group Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strong and trusted partnerships with key budget holders within ITLT, with a commercial mind-set, provide analysis, challenge and insight on commercial finance matters and strategies - pro-actively addressing areas that may not have been previously considered
  • Be the key nexus with the Management Reporting team to provide effective monthly management reports for key budget holders and Finance leadership team.
  • Manage the financial budgeting / forecasting as well as 4YRS Strat planning process for the specific towers as well as managing the entire IT submissions / position.
  • Drive service levelling by overseeing the transfer of activities to share service teams (BBS R2R, Asset Management, Management Reporting) to ensure the IT team can free up capacity to focus on more Business Partnering related activities.
  • Undertake Ad Hoc analysis when required on specific activities
  • Ensure correct guidance and definitions on Investment propositions (Capex and Opex) are reviewed with individual Project Managers. Also understand future run cost and benefit realisation.
  • Maintain a balanced connection between your key budget holders and the Finance Leadership Team


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Qualified accountant ACA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Strong analytical background, with a good attention to detail, strategic thinking and problem solving.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust among the IT and Finance community
  • Ability to interact, advise and challenge senior leadership levels.
  • Commercial and retail mind-set - ability to interpret business requirements and prioritisation.
  • Business partnering experience with non-finance individuals and teams, strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering change and driving improvements.
