Job Details

The Support Engineer, Platforms & Integrations will work with the Senior Manager, Platforms & Integrations in the development and maintenance of our ecommerce website, its fulfillment and analytics integrations, and data-driven business intelligence operations at The Fold. They will be detail oriented, technically minded and interested to grow their knowledge and understanding of the methods and practices of a modern e-commerce business.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Senior Manager, Platforms & Integrations to deliver ecommerce development for our BigCommerce + Shogun ecommerce site (front-end) & fulfillment integrations (back-end).
- Work with the Ecommerce Content and Marketing teams to provide website page and plugin customisations.
- Respond to the ecommerce site and fulfillment support needs of wider teams in Content, Marketing, Merchandising and Customer Service.
- Assist in the development and administration of custom API scripts for bulk data actions (Postman Runner, BigQuery, cURL).
- Assist in the site speed optimisation and RUM / MUX testing (Pingdom & GTMetrix).
- Assist in the troubleshooting of issues with the website hosting, plugins, fulfillment services, etc.
- Test development deliverables on a wide variety of devices & communicate results to providers.
- Support external development partner(s) where necessary.
Technical skills
- 2+ years experience in some or all of - PHP, Python, Javascript, SQL / MySQL / PostgreSQL, HTML / CSS (practical & commercial experience a bonus).
- Familiarity with HTTP / REST API authentication & callback methods.
- Familiarity with Git version control & related devops methods.
- Strong QA, debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Prior experience with Google Compute Cloud / Amazon Web Services, BigCommerce / Shogun CMS, shell scripting a plus.
Personal specification
- Good communicator.
- Ability to work with non technical staff (members of the finance, marketing, e-commerce, merchandising, customer service teams).
