Position Overview
Purpose & Scope: Based in Bengaluru, India the Associate Manager, BI is a new role and will work with the APAC Analytics team to design, build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for key data and analytics consumers including business and data analysts and data scientists covering our digital and physical channels and value chain.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Work with a culture of continuous improvement to deliver the highest performance and availability from our data platforms. · Drive Automation through effective metadata management: The data engineer will be responsible for using innovative and modern tools, techniques and architectures to partially or entirely automate the most common, repeatable and tedious data preparation and integration tasks in order to minimize manual and error-prone processes and improve productivity. · Lead the solutions and root cause analysis of tickets/issues raised by business related to our data pipelines across flow across different systems and tools used across the Analytics team including AWS Redshift, MicroStrategy, Airflow, AWS Elastic Map Reduce, AWS Kinesis, etc. Accountable for performance, availability, uptime and cost of the environment. Responsible for the systems roadmap and platform upgrades. Drive continuous improvement in cost and performance. · Lead the solution design of any optimization exercises taken up by the team, advise the Engineering manager on solution paths to adapt and technologies to use in consultation with the cloud architecture team · Lead the team by driving the executions from each team member, and consistently delivering output and outcomes with quality in a timely manner.Perform vendor management on system implementation and support

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Education and Experience · The ideal candidate will have a combination of BI and Data Engineering skills with a technical or computer science degree. · 7 years of working experience with ETL, Data Modelling, and Data Architecture. · Proficient in ETL optimization, designing, coding, and tuning big data processes. · Strong experience working with AWS stack is required. · Experience working with Azure stack is a plus. · Strong experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile development is preferred. · Strong experience in people management is required. Technical Knowledge/Skills · Strong experience in working with large, heterogeneous datasets in building and optimizing data pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using traditional data integration technologies. These should include ETL/ELT, data replication/CDC, message-oriented data movement and upcoming data ingestion and integration technologies such as stream data integration and data virtualization. · Experience working with famous data discovery, analytics and BI software tools like MicroStrategy and Tableau, and others for semantic-layer-based data discovery desirable. · Strong experience working with data science teams to refine and optimise data science and machine learning models and algorithms. · Experienced in agile methodologies and capable of applying DevOps and increasingly DataOps principles to data pipelines to improve the communication, integration, reuse and automation of data flows between data managers and consumers across an organization Interpersonal Skills and Characteristics · Strong experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment. · Required to be highly creative and collaborative. An ideal candidate would be expected to collaborate with the business and IT teams to define the business problem, refine the requirements, and design and develop data deliverables accordingly. The successful candidate will also be required to have regular discussions with data consumers on optimally refining the data pipelines developed in nonproduction environments and deploying them in production. · Required to have the ability to interface with, and gain the respect of, stakeholders at all levels and roles within the company. · Is a confident, energetic self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills. · Has good judgment, and a sense of urgency and has demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.
