Job Details
The Associate Director will work in collaboration with the Director overseeing the operations of the Office of the Bursar. The Associate Director serves as the primary contact for all technical functions in the department and ensures the integrity and smooth daily operations the billing, receivable and systems operation.
Essential Functions:
- Work collaboratively with the director to oversee the operations of the department, including student billing-tuition and fees, receivables, county chargeback billing, Perkins loans, Title IV financial aid, and collections.
- Ensure compliance with university, state, and federal regulations and standard accounting procedures.
- Develop procedural documentation for office processes, train staff on new and existing processes.
- Manage and streamline department business processes using new and existing technology to integrate with other systems.
- Manage escalated issues, exercising independent judgment, to resolve problems that are complex in scope.
- Ensure high-level, quality service to staff and students.
- Perform data analysis and develop query reports, including statistical reports to assess the effectiveness of current practices and procedures. Promote the use of technology to enhance efficiencies in the processing of student accounts.
- Develop financial reports as required for internal and external auditors. Participate in auditing projects.
- Oversee the performance of information systems and office processes and recommend needed changes or improvements.
- Represent the department at meetings and conferences.
- Assume full responsibility for the department in the absence of the Director.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
- 5 years-plus professional experience in a college or university, preferably in a supervisory position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise with integrated e-commerce systems and other financial data management applications.
- Knowledge of accounting and accounts receivable principles, methodology, and practices.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and university policies and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and oversee multiple tasks effectively.
- High-level interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to resolve difficult situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Advanced Banner Student system knowledge

Additional Information:
Days/Hours: M-F, 9am-5pm, in person; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.
Salary Range Transparency: $125,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
