Position Overview
To provide and effective cost management across Direct to Consumer (DTC) and wholesale activities across the EMEA & LATAM Regions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* To support the Construction Team in controlling capital expenditure on construction projects.
* Responsible for managing the cost control function of projects within the EMEA, LATAM Region
* Ensuring variations to original scope are tracked and costed in a timely manner.
* Reporting on variations and impact to the original capital.
* Update cost plan and projected final cost for projects.
* Track change orders in-line with various headings including Deco, Construction, IT, Asset Protection, Millwork, Architecture & Design.
* Prepare exception reporting on financial overruns that allow the business to be notified and respond with advise on agreed course of action.
* Review potential millworkers and contractors to ensure that there are robust reporting mechanisms in place for handling variations and providing timely cost information.
* Review production facilities for potential suppliers to ensure they are in line with the required employment and sustainability requirements of RL.
* Investigate approaches to purchase and issue free issue materials to GC for larger more costly items within the construction projects.
* Seek retrospective discount arrangements where possible.
* Develop accurate budget formulating tools with the use of historic data to track detailed line item costs.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
* Experience working on construction projects of varying sizes and complexities.
* Experience in cost estimating, contract administration, and risk management.
* Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and processes.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines working with multiple projects.
* Ability to collaborate and influence internal departments in meeting cost directives.
* A creative mind and approach to problem solving.
* A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
* Professionalism, multi-cultural and diversity awareness, sensitivity and respect.
* Experience/Appreciation of the luxury retailing environments - desirable, but not essential.
