Director of Product Development 

Role Overview

The Director of Product Development will work hand-in-hand with the Director of Production to own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Another Tomorrow’s sustainable, ready-to-wear product from initial development, sourcing and sketches through costing, bulk production and final delivery. This role reports to our COO, works closely with our Creative Director, and will partner  with our Italian-based Logistics Manager and manufacturing partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development of the RTW collection from initial design hand-off through to final production approval.
  • Partner with Design and Sustainability to source raw materials through to the final buy and delivery.
  • Ensure a precise handover of sketches from design, as well as correct handover of information to production, within set deadlines and key calendar dates.
  • Track and Facilitate all stages of the raw material process including review of all lab dips, fabric developments, garment samples, and their stitch details and label placements with Design.
  • Actively participate in problem counter-sourcing and partner negotiations. 
  • Develop, maintain and improve the AT material  library.
  • Build and maintain BOM’s & keep tech packs up to date.
  • Thoroughly review samples against tech packs to identify discrepancies and ensure that styles meet our required standards for quality, performance and sustainability.
  • Set up appropriate wash & care instructions, HTS codes, and label instructions by style.
  • Participate in the costing reviews with Production, provide feedback and solutions for cost-savings, and ensure all information is correct in our tech packs and ERP. 
  • Issue and maintain all seasonal garment, fabric and trim POs.
  • Partner with the Head of Sustainability to facilitate transparency and traceability data collection.
  • Uphold,  protect and enhance the company’s sustainable sourcing policies.
  • Develop and maintain transparent, fruitful and trusting relationships with AT production partners around the world.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in a similar role for a high-end luxury brand
  • Experience in luxury fashion & knowledge of luxury finishings
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must possess strong planning, cost analysis and margin knowledge
  • Solid understanding of garment construction and fabrics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient with Apple, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, ERP/PLM experience
  • Speaks and/or understands Italian a plus

Compensation

This is a full-time, salaried position with 100% coverage of medical benefits as well as 401K match, commuter benefits, paid parental leave, a generous vacation policy, sabbatical policy, and gratis product.  The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000 (commensurate with experience).
