SUMMARY:

The position focuses on supporting the Pre-Production Manager throughout the Pre-Production process. This individual is responsible for coordinating the physical creation of fit samples as well as maintaining system integrity and accuracy. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of the Mumu HQ office in Los Angeles, CA.

CORE DUTIES:

  • Facilitate the creation of Pre-Production samples
  • Issue POs to contractors
  • Daily communication with members of our in-house sewing team as well as outside contractors: cutting, sewing, send outs, etc.
  • Physically review and approve smocking samples as well as sewing templates to measurement and quality standards
  • Review all fit samples and ensure construction accuracy against the pattern card
  • Create and maintain internal Excel WIPs throughout the Pre-Production process
  • Communicate estimated completion dates or delays to the Pre-Production Manager, Designer, and/or Production Manager
  • Attend regularly scheduled Pre-Production meetings and provide a status update for all skus in work
  • Review and approve vendor invoicing, provide necessary backup paperwork to accounting
  • Assist in gathering samples as needed. Coordinate with team members and vendors to ensure that samples are delivered by the required due date
  • Work cross-functionally with Designers, Sewers, Pattern Makers, and Production Team as needed
  • Attend all fittings and take detailed notes
  • Cross check all cost sheets against BOMs and approved pattern cards before releasing to approved samples to the Domestic Production team
  • Update Excel BOMs and publish via email when changes occur
  • Update Full Circle Cost Sheets to ensure fabric, trim, and process step accuracy. Communicate changes to the Production team when Cut Tickets are open
  • Facilitate a timely schedule to ensure delivery deadlines are met
  • Prioritize the work of our in-house Pattern Makers and Sewers to ensure time and action deadlines are met
  • Review and approve vendor invoicing, provide necessary backup paperwork to accounting
  • Visit domestic contractors/vendors as needed
  • Fill out the Product Set Up Form and publish to the eCommerce team as skus are approved
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Candidate must be highly organized with ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency
  • Candidate must be a team player, willing and able to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
  • Dynamic problem solving and project management skills
  • Analytical self-starter with a proven history of success self-managing complete steps of the production process
  • Must have proven knowledge of garment construction including points of measurement and sewing techniques
  • Must understand the entire production process as well as history working with different types of fabrics (chiffon, knits, wovens, etc.)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years’ Domestic garment production experience
  • Education or certification in garment manufacturing is a plus
  • Extremely proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Full Circle experience is preferred
  • Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Knowledge across multiple categories. Categories must include but are not limited to wovens, cut and sew knits, dresses, tops, bottoms, and evening wear
  • Denim and kids experience is a plus

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid CA Driver's License

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos
  • Ability to write and respond to email correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to other employees
