Primary Purpose:

This Data Scientist will join our ongoing data science projects to support local business teams on segmentation, forecasting and personalization. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our business partners, developing, deploying, and maintaining models serving multiple internal processes, and exploring new techniques in machine learning and deep learning.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to...

  • Work with local business partners to understand their business problems, and translate them into analytic questions
  • Improve customer experience, revenue creation and business productivity through predictive modeling
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to optimize and enhance business strategies and marketing tactics
  • Develop end-to-end data science solutions, include -
    • Extract and transform large volume of data from relational databases
    • Clean and process structured data
    • Work on feature engineering and feature selection
    • Tune models
    • Develop tools and processes to evaluate model performance
    • Work with tech partners to deploy models as automated processes or APIs to serve business applications
  • Understand models/solutions built by global team, and customize them to local business needs
  • Lead and build the local data science projects from scratch
  • Estimate and track business impact of data science applications
  • Present the methodologies, applications, and limitations clearly to business partners


The accomplished individual will possess...

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • BA/BS in a technical field (Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, etc.)
  • Proven expertise in Python and SQL for Data Science
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models
  • Experience in data mining and using statistical computer programming language to draw actionable insights from large datasets
  • An understanding of Agile workflows and product development cycles
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication and presentation skills


Things that would make you stand out...

  • Experience of using AWS services for Machine Learning model development and deployment
  • Code in the open domain (e.g. Github), or code for Data Science projects that could be shared with us
  • Some experience in Retail or Luxury business is a plus
  • Passion for Data Science as well as curiosity and inquisitive mindset. A good measure would be participation in Data Science competitions and/or open courses
