WHAT YOU WILL DO
As US Director of Operations you will oversee all North American (NOAM) Operations and play a critical role in securing the existing commerce as well as laying the fundament for our ambitious growth targets.

Reporting to the US GM and dotted line to COO, you will act as a thought partner for marketing, sales and product development and you will deliver solutions for daily operational challenges as well as provide visions to shape the organization’s operational activities in the long run.

You will be responsible for leadership, management and oversight of all S&OP activities in the US. As part of your daily work you will closely support the sales leadership for their channel operations sales (wholesale, ecommerce, retail) and work directly with the US GM and the international supply chain team.

People Management: currently two FTE Sales Operations & Analyst, team to be extended by 1 headcount during 2023 with continuing growth.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A US DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Logistics & Supply Chain Management

  • Daily management of 3PL partners
  • Work with Global Supply Chain to ensure stock needs in NOAM are met to cover the total NOAM forecast (wholesale, ecommerce, marketing and ecommerce platforms)
  • Category management: collateral procurement such as ecommerce shippers and shopping bags from local providers. Support product development sourcing local cosmetic vendors
  • Define and execute the 3PL strategy
  • Oversee and issue necessary kitting requirements 
  • Be responsible for communication of new item set ups to 3PL to ensure proper flow of orders.
  • Manage 3PL vendors and control budget

Sales Operations

  • Ensure customer sales orders & marketing/PR orders are executed
  • Ensure orders are processed at the agreed SLA for all sales channels with special focus on Wholesale, E-commerce and retail SPA
  • Overall management of all S&OP matters in NOAM
  • Analyze and monitor inventory at US 3PL to ensure coverage across all sales channels
  • Manage inventory and replenishment for Barbara Sturm SPAs/Boutiques
  • Forecasting / Reporting
    • Align with Sales / Marketing on forecasts. Review demand and sales forecast
    • Provide commercial teams relevant data to assist in new product launch forecasting

Admin/Other

  • Participating and contributing to global S&OP and commercial calls/meetings
  • System Management Responsible for updates in Order to Cash/Procure to Pay process in the ERP systems, work closely with the ERP (Netsuite)

Special Project Management (future projects)

  • Implement a new 3PL partner, monitor SLA and SOPs
  • Implement marketplace fulfilment operations
  • Implement planning process for intercompany shipments (ex manufacturing site)
  • Extending the NOAM supply chain to other territories in Central and South America

YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE 

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in FMCG / operations – preferably cosmetics
  • Have worked in fast-paced, fluid start-up company environments and have the capacity and willingness to adjust quickly to ever-changing priorities.
  • Understands the challenges of a fast growing/owner led environments, its constraints on people resources, processes/ controls
  • Understand the economics of wholesale and ecommerce sale channel
  • Technologically savvy, understanding concepts of EDI and system interfaces
  • Enjoys defining business procedures for specific sales channels, complex customers and global supply chain movements
  • Experience in working independently and driving continuous improvement
  • Analytical and with a strong business acumen, yet pragmatic and solution oriented
  • Enjoy working onsite in a modern office
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in supply, chain, business administration
