Your Role

As the Manager of Litigation and Employment, you'll support the General Litigation and Employment legal team and report to the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel - General Litigation & Employment. The role is remote and may require occasional travel.

What You'll Do
  • Assists company attorneys with commercial litigation and arbitration filed by or against the company, including management of outside legal resources
  • Conducts legal research and prepares legal documents, such as discovery responses
  • Coordinates company responses to subpoenas, including bearing responsibility for communicating with personnel and collecting and producing responsive documents
  • Assists company claims adjusters and attorneys in managing workers' compensation, general liability, and product liability claims, including preparing weekly status reports of all active and pending claims
  • Assists company attorneys, People Services, and outside legal resources with the preparation of company responses
  • Coordinates and schedules training presentations for other functions, and assists in preparing presentations
  • Possesses exceptional computer skills, including a high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Performs some administrative duties, such as composing and typing routine correspondence and editing legal documents
  • Demonstrates excellent client service by communicating status of matters with clients and ensuring interactions with clients are always polite and positive
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality by actively seeking new ways of working to improve productivity and thoroughly checking work
  • Possesses high-level written and verbal communication skills, and excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Maintains confidentiality


What You Bring
  • At least ten years in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments including People Services, IT, and Loss Prevention.
  • Experience with the administration of general liability and workers' comp claims
  • CounselLink matter management and e-billing system, or a similar system
  • Electronic court record services, such as PACER Case Locator, to access cases and docket information
  • Insured litigation and claims
  • Employment law matters and EEOC charge responses
