Overview and purpose of role:

As a EMEI Communications Director at Christian Louboutin, you will define EMEI communication strategy to build brand and product awareness in line with both business and communication strategies. You will support CL global objective of long-term brand growth and support retail sales through a variety of actions. You will have to deliver outstanding results under the broad topic Press activations, Communication Activations, Retail Events to engage with both Medias and Clients.

 

Key Responsibilities of the role:

Marketing and Communications:

  • Strong existing relationships with top editors, Influencers and KOL and ability to develop new ones.
  • Extremely qualitative experience in building brand stories, Christian Louboutin profile pieces and product placement pitching.
  • Sensitivity and comprehension of the key role that Influencers and Talents have in the industry today.
  • Curation of a regional Influencer roster
  • Develop press releases for local initiatives and store openings to be shared and approved by the global team.
  • Co-sponsoring editorial strategy on print and digital

 

Events

  • Implement regional season collection presentations.
  • Develop brand events aligned with global communication strategy and local needs.
  • Work closely with the regional retails team to support client events (trunk shows, store openings…)
  • Develop the appropriate Communication strategy to support regional pop-up stores
  • Nurture the relationships with the regional Retail teams to create a seamless Marketing calendar.

 

Strategy

  • Responsible for the development of the Communication strategy in a medium/long terms perspective in terms of key actions and budget development.
  • Partner with the Management for the implementation of the 3 years strategy and budget presentations. In line with the regional objectives and the global strategy
  • Gather intelligence on competitor’s activities, global trends, and upcoming talents.
  • Maintain a high-volume reporting system consisting of annual, monthly, and weekly as well as seasonal recaps and competitor analysis.
  • Manage a team of 5 direct reports spread across Paris, London, Dubai.

 

People management

  • Partner with HR to drive the people strategy, ensuring agile recruitment inducting our new recruits with emphasis on the culture and the values of Christian Louboutin.
  • Building and maintaining a strong succession planning, retaining, and engaging talents.
  • Partnering effectively and collaboratively with all team members to contribute to a professional and rewarding workplace culture.
  • Ensuring qualitative annual and bi-annual performance reviews with monthly follow up on previous objectives. Evaluate on a regular basis the strengths and development opportunities of your teams to ensure we are driving optimum performance.
  • Effectively manage poor performance or conduct issues in a timely manner, in partnership with the relevant business partners.
  • Maintaining departmental communication ensuring your people are well connected and well educated on all business initiatives.
  • Respectful of the hierarchy and of the double reporting

 

Skills and Requirements:

In order to deliver the main responsibilities of the role, you will need the following skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years PR & Communication experience across Fashion and/or Luxury.
  • Proven PR & Communication experience across multiple country especially France and UK
  • English compulsory: ability to speak and write fluently. Other languages are appreciated.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident management style with the ability to communicate effectively in all forms and at all levels. Delivers challenging messages positively and has the support of his/her team. Manages relationships with external suppliers effectively.
  • Highly motivated and committed with a can-do attitude – thrives on the demands of a busy press office with enthusiasm, high energy levels and a determination to deliver top class work from his/her team
  • Act as an inspiring leader
  • Teamwork and management – able to manage, motivate and develop their team to strong performance. Effectively manages completion of tasks across the press office with high standard. Can be relied on to source and recruit team members. Strong training skills
  • Excellent and consistent personal appearance – smart with a sense of individual style
  • Adaptability and flexibility – embrace change is and is consistently able to develop and adapt to the needs of the business. Can identify and initiate change to improve the business.
  • Time management – punctual and reliable, able to confidently multi-task and manage others to perform multiple duties to the required deadlines
  • Adherence to company policies – is a true ambassador for the brand, with strong sense of corporate responsibility, setting the standard. Takes responsibility for team compliance with all company procedures
  • Digital and Social Media appetite
  • Cost sensitive – attention to cost efficiency and expert in yearly budget implementations and long-term projections.

 

How will success be measured?

On a yearly basis with semestrial follow-ups, you will have a performance review with targets to still improve your performance based on:

  • Teamwork: you are expected to deliver as part of a team at all times and supporting and mentoring if necessary new team members as required,
  • You are expected to respect Company processes and procedures,
  • Your manager will be expected to provide you with ongoing appropriate feedback to support your improvement where necessary and appropriate as required.
