Job Purpose:

 To work in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders and HR colleagues to shape, develop and deliver HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of JW Anderson. Operating as the departmental HR expert, to advise, guide and support staff and managers by providing high level people management and development support across all business areas.

Main Responsibilities:

 Showing a strong solutions focus, you will be comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions. 

You will be responsible for : 

  • Providing advice and guidance to Directors and managers on employment matters; influencing management and the leadership around the people agenda to maximise business performance. 
  • Identifying HR priorities from corporate and departmental plans, translating business requirements into effective HR practices and delivering people solutions aligned to business objectives. 
  • Delivering key HR initiatives across the HR spectrum, including workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee relations, employee engagement and performance management. 

To achieve this you will need to deliver the following with the HR Coordinator : 

  • Ensure a best in class onboarding experience for new employees within the business 
  • Probation period management 
  • Manage administration of Starter Onboarding & Off Boarding in conjunction with JWA Operations Team 
  • Annual Leave & Absence Management. 

Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company. You will be responsible for team training, development and engagement including: 

  • Manage the administration & implementation of Annual appraisals 
  • Performance and career review process 
  • Embedding all JWA Policies 
  • Being a custodian of the company culture 
  • Support and coach at middle management level 
  • Support managers with development discussions and in building individual development plans 
  • Deliver internal trainings around performance management, recruitment, feedback, career development 
  • You will support managers in difficult conversations and play an active role in improving the feedback culture 
  • Employee Relations: Pro-actively lead and manage all first line employee relations cases, ensuring managers are offered practical advice and guidance in line with current legislation. 

Responsible for Compensation & Benefits with HRD including: 

  • Main point of contact for external payroll provider and responsible for all payroll management 
  • Management of Pension scheme 
  • Responsible for administration of All JW Anderson benefits 

Drive the talent agenda to ensure the HR Team identify strategic resourcing requirements and build commercially sound resourcing plans to cover business needs, peak periods or capability gaps. reinforce retention and ensure solid succession planning 

  • Talent acquisition and recruitment including: 
  • Developing job descriptions, person specifications with managers 
  • Selection processes and interviews 
  • Employer branding initiatives 
  • Reinforce retention and ensure solid succession planning 
  • Responsible for all work placement & intern recruitment

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • 5 years' experience
  • Recruitment background (Essential) 
  • Strong Relational Skills ( Essential) 
  • Strong ability to understand JW Anderson’s strategic context and work pro-actively to achieve the organisations highest priorities 
  • Able to communicate strategic priorities to others and to lead them in contributing to those priorities.
  • Ability to have a high level of ownership of above responsibilities, working well autonomously and cross functionally with other departments 
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work to deadlines and pay attention to detail 
  • Experience of managing conflict and sensitive issues and achieving positive outcomes 
  • Experience of developing and managing change projects and programmes 
  • Experience of delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines 
  • Experience of developing workforce plans that reflect organisation/departmental need 
  • Able to communicate strategic priorities to others and to lead them in contributing to those priorities 
  • Ability to have a high level of ownership of above responsibilities, working well autonomously and cross functionally with other departments
