Legal Intern

Come join FIGS' 2023 Summer Internship Program! We are excited to bring on a Legal Intern to join the FIGS Legal team! As an intern on the Legal team, you will get to experience what it's like working in-house at a fast-paced, dynamic, public company. You'll work alongside the FIGS Legal team and get well-rounded experience as a legal generalist. You'll work on a variety of tasks, including corporate and commercial transactions, contract review and negotiation, international and regulatory compliance, advocacy, intellectual property, litigation and PubCo matters (including SEC regulatory compliance, periodic reporting, corporate governance and securities). During this 12-week immersive internship program, you will gain hands-on work experience, develop & refine skills, network & learn from established professionals, all while exploring future potential career paths.

What you'll do:

• Support the FIGS in-house legal team and outside counsel on a variety of legal matters
• Work cross functionally with FIGS business teams including, but not limited to, Finance, Accounting, Production, Marketing, Brand, Design and Product and Operations
• Assist with reviewing and negotiating contracts, intellectual property matters, international initiatives, strategic initiatives, litigation matters and securities law matters
• Conduct legal research, draft research memos, draft T&Cs, and work on other projects handled by the FIGS Legal Team

About you:

• Applicants must currently be enrolled as 1st or 2nd year law students at an ABA-accredited law school and must have an excellent academic record
• Permanent work authorization for the United States is required
• Self-driven, positive and able to manage multiple projects at once
• Excellent legal research, writing and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of legal research platforms such as WestLaw, LexisNexis, and Practical Law
• Ability to handle complex and challenging assignments with short turnaround deadlines

Program details:

• Ability to commit to a 12 weeks internship program and work 20 hours per week
• Ability to commute to our Santa Monica office 3x a week
• Compensation for this position will be $18.00/hour
