Job Purpose

Working to assist the Product Developer in developing, finalising, and checking patterns from SMS samples to PPS for all Halfpenny London collections.

You will also work closely with the Atelier, Design and Production teams to ensure all deadlines are met in order to produce in a timely manner.

To have a comprehensive knowledge of the Halfpenny London standards, and ensure these are met through regularly revised processes, quality of product, and professional conduct.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of a high-quality fit and pattern that satisfies design, customers and manufacturers.
  • Assist with the maintenance in consistency of quality and fit across all collections, updating and introducing standards and procedures in a supplier manual
  • Take ownership of the product and all issues related to it through evaluating the quality and costs and through recommending and discussing product changes.
  • Communicating clearly and efficiently, ensuring all patterns have the desired finishing and specification requested
  • Oversee mock-ups, toiles and samples alongside the Product Developer and Atelier Coordinator
  • Responsible for grading notes and passing over key information relevant to each style.
  • Seasonal development of curve fit and grading
  • Work in line with the team critical path
  • Ensure all pattern measurements are taken accurately and updated in the spec sheet.
  • Assist in the sign off of final pre-production fits with the Creative Director. Sealing patterns and specs for bulk production
  • Updating tech packs from production fitting, ensuring that all data is up to date and correct. Communicate fit, quality and construction requirements to manufacturers through fitting comments.
  • Maintain the pattern library
  • To work alongside the Design team and Production team to give technical guidance where needed

FITTINGS

  • Responsible for note taking during fit sessions, ensuring accurate information is passed from initial design stage through to pre-production fittings.
  • Follow up with pattern amendments
  • To measure in samples ahead of fittings and to review samples on the stand, giving any initial comments relevant for the fit session as well as checking that previous fit commends have been followed
  • Assist with fit model bookings and castings

 

 

The Candidate:

  • Must have proven experience in a similar technical role and pattern cutting
  • Understanding of fabrics, technical components and sewing techniques
  • Skills on Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel
