Founded by Creative Director Mira Mikati in 2015 - Mira Mikati (the brand) has gained a cult following with street style starlets and style-savvy celebrities with its timeless silhouettes, dedication to colour, and tactile showcases. Collections of carefree-meets-cool designs span the realms of playfully gamine and candidly feminine—all while channelling inspirational undertones hatched from art world collaborations with personal idols like KAWS, Darcel, Jack Pierson, MR, and Javier Calleja, adventure-filled travels, and a resistance to the idea of sartorial conventionality. The infectious, whimsical spirit is reflective of Mikati’s own ultra-upbeat outlook on life.

Position Description

This is a full-time position that will be very hands-on. We are looking for someone hard working and good at taking direction. We are a small team; therefore, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to be very involved throughout their time with us. This is an opportunity to gain real experience of everything that goes into creating a collection; from research, design, and sampling to understanding how to work with suppliers, mills, and manufacturers.

Profile

Throughout the experience here with us, the student will gain experience in:

- Trend and inspirational research

- Collating mood boards

- Sketching and technical drawings

- Design development

- Textile ideas

- Hand sewing and textile sampling

- Computer work

- Maintaining organisation within the Studio

- Running errands

Skills and qualities required

- A Fashion/Textiles/Print design course at BA(HONS) level

- A love for fashion in all its creative ways, textiles, print design, art, music, and embroidery…etc.

- A good understanding of Photoshop and Illustrator

- A positive attitude and willingness to lend a hand at a variety of tasks, no matter how big or small.

- Good time keeping and organisational skills.
