Primary Purpose: The accountant will provide accounting and analytical support for North America ecommerce and order management. Overall team responsibilities include participation in the Tapestry close process, monthly reconciliations, fraud analytics, customer care support, testing, and SOX compliance. It offers multifaceted experience and opportunity for cross-functional collaboration with Tapestry Brand and Regional Controller teams, Customer Care, Corporate Finance and IT. The position will report to the Manager, Retail Accounting.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in accounting to...

  • Month end close responsibilities including journal entries, preparing account reconciliations and ensuring Tapestry's deadlines are met
  • Monitor activities of various functional areas to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, GAAP, SOX, and industry "best practices"
  • Monitor financials, investigate and correct errors in financial posting and reporting
  • Ability to review reports and data analytically for accuracy
  • Assist Manager with special assignments and ad hoc analysis due to new systems
  • Assist with internal and external auditor requests
  • Learn process flow of all transactions in order to be able to get into the detail when issues need to be researched
  • Analyze chargebacks and fraud patterns
