JOB PURPOSE

Conceptualise, develop and deliver the Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives / projects for Burberry in the North American Market. Represent the region as a strategic advisor for DE&l elements for cross-functional programmes and Burberry as the DE&l conduit to identify and establish partnership relationships aligned to our global DE&| strategy and vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role partners with senior HR & business stakeholders across north American, alongside partnering closely with leaders from across Burberry business to continually evolve, drive and deliver on our global D,E&I goals. It is an imperative skill to be able to navigate a creative business, build strong relationships and influence within and across all levels of the business.

This role reports into our VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and will be working closely with broader HR team and our advisory networks, representing our DE&l spirit and ambition.
  • The design, implementation and leadership of specific Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) programs and initiatives
  • Drive leadership awareness, commitment and accountability for DE&l initiatives in North American market
  • Collaborate & influence cross-functionally with senior regional & global leaders to understand, identify and regionally activate company-wide hiring and diversity goals
  • Strategise to translate external and internal trends into innovative and creative practices that align the Americas region with the Global agenda & strategy
  • Build relationships with external partners aligned to our current global strategy




  • Deliver key moments for the region to amplify DE&l agenda and focus for the region
  • Extensive knowledge of state-wide legislation concerning DE&I and the evolving landscape
  • Experience of working in a global DE&l function
  • Forward thinking to identify key partnerships that enhance our North American DE&l strategy and give us focus on the initiative that will deliver on our DE&l goals
  • Collaboration with Burberry communications and engagement team to share DE&l initiatives, drive engagement and amolify key internal and external messages
  • Partner with DE&I strategy and partnership lead to build employee led groups such as ERG's internal council
  • Develop key stakeholder knowledge, understanding and expertise on inclusion
  • Participate in other D&I related projects as required
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the VP of DE&I


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Proven ability creating, leading and implementing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) strategies in global organizations
  • Experience developing relationships with external partners, communities, and networks to strengthen organisational D&I initiatives
  • Strong understanding of interpretation and analysis of data across several mediums ( Internal people data, benchmark, research)
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated experience translating vision into strategy and delivering against the plan
  • Knowledge of project management & change management practices
  • Experiences of delivering multiple priorities with a high degree of flexibility and accountability, in a fast-evolving environment.
  • Strong communications skills (written & presentation)
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
  • Enjoy program-solving and taking on challenges
  • An interest in fashion
  • ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) experience desirable

Burberry is an Equal Opportunities Employer and as such, treats all applications equally and recruits purely on the basis of skills and experience.
  • Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $150,000.00 and $180,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
  • This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
