As a Product Group Manager you will work with your team of Product Development Managers to provide a set of related technology products of strategic business importance to a business area. Your accountabilities for these products start with their inception to their retirement and you teams will be responsible for their daily and on-going support and as well development of business prioritised features.

You will have line management responsibility of Product Development Managers ensuring the most efficient resources are used within your portfolio and that stakeholder interests are managed and satisfied. You will be required to provide effective board level communication demonstrating progress, cost control and the strategic alignment of the programme.

You will ensure appropriate budgeting is in place for the product domain and all resources ensuring continuous improvement is anticipated and provisioned. You will have strong supplier management and proven contracting and negotiating skills to provide excellent cost control.

You will oversee all aspects of the domain's delivery in a highly collaborative and agile framework, providing ongoing communication to ensure that progress is transparent and aligned to the quality and standards expected by the stakeholders and IT governance. This role demands strong leadership skills and technical ability aligned with excellent management and communication.

Responsibilities;

Programme Management
• Manage business alignment and expectation by maintaining and effectively communicating the portfolio deliverables, backlog and assigned priorities.
• Oversee delivery of all projects in the portfolio.
• Oversee accounting, estimating and billing for all resources used.

Team Management
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Product Delivery Managers to consistently deliver the highest standards of service required by the business.
• Ensure adherence to all aspects of design, creation, testing approaches and documentation standards.
• Develop technical and behavioural skills of the team and promote a learning culture within the Systems function.

Stakeholder Management
• Ensure that Next Technology and Stakeholders are aligned at all times on the project aims and deliverables.
• Ensure issues raised by business users are appropriately evaluated, prioritised and resourced.
• Ensure that communication to the business is professional, clear and appropriate.
• Build and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders and business users.
• Work closely with other systems teams to improve cross-team collaboration of issues, where appropriate.

Sub-Department Management
• Ensure that budgets for all resources and services are correctly provisioned and obtained using the appropriate financial processes.
• Maintain, review and negotiate supplier contracts to maximise cost effectiveness and benefits.

CRITERIA

• Proven track record of delivering high profile, large scale products and services within an agile environment as a Software Development, Project or Product Manager
• Demonstrable experience in creation of a service level roadmap, backlog prioritisation, development of business cases, success criteria and using multiple insights such as user feedback & performance analytics.
• Extensive experience of managing complex projects and portfolios.
• Ability to manage executive level stakeholders and build key business relationships
• Exceptional people management skills, particularly in leading, developing and coaching multi-disciplinary teams with the ability to understand a range of different professions, for example, security, technical, design, operational.
• Strong leadership skills and previous team management.
• Transferable skills applicable to multiple domains.
• Experience of managing a demanding workload.
• Strong ability to plan and prioritise multiple streams of work.
• Excellent communication skills.
