Overview:

As a Manager in Architecture & Engineering, you'll be responsible for providing technical expertise in the areas of cloud and on-premise Architecture and Engineering. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including retail support, application partners, DevOps teams, Digital and DataLabs team, business users and other stakeholders, to design, develop, implement and maintain a scalable, secure, and reliable architectural solutions that span across multiple clouds and on-premise environments. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, on-premise infrastructure, and architecture principles, strong technical skills, and the ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to support the organization's overall technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in architecture and engineering for cloud and on-premise environments, including system design, solution development, technology evaluation, implementation, support and maintenance to ensure it's efficiency, reliability and security on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Alibaba Cloud.
  • Design, review, develop, implement and manage cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure and systems, including compute, storage, and networking while ensuring scalability, reliability, security and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, production support, application partners, outsourcing partners and projects team to define technical requirements and develop innovative and scalable architecture solutions that align with business objectives and technology strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, identify and address technical challenges and provide recommendations for resolutions in performance, security and availability issues
  • Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of existing and emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to recommend the best fit for the organization's needs.
  • Participate in technology, vendor and architecture reviews to evaluate and approve technology solutions to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards
  • Provide technical guidance, and be the technical escalation points for outsourced service providers or junior team members, promoting best practices related to architecture and engineering
  • Participate in the development, enforcement and implementation of technical standards, guidelines and best practices for security, compliance and data protection, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption and network security
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation with GitHub as its central code repository
  • Collaborate with network engineering and operations team to design and implement a secure and scalable network architecture, including virtual private networks (VPNs), virtual private clouds (VPCs) and subnets.
  • Develop and maintain support documentations to ensure it's always up-to-date. Conducts regular knowledge transfer activities with internal team and external partners
  • Track, manage and conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for on-premise and Cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies, and provide recommendations for incorporating them into the organization's technology stack
  • Be contactable for critical incidents and outages, as needed


Requirements:
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure (AWS / Alibaba Cloud / Azure), virtualization technologies (Citrix, VMware, Nutanix), networking technologies, and physical infrastructure hardware (servers, routers, switches, firewalls, circuits)
  • Proven experience as a Technical Specialist or similar role, with strong expertise in architecture and engineering principles for both on-premise and Cloud hosting environments
  • Strong technical skills in architecture and engineering, including system design, solution, development, and technology evaluations.
  • Experience in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining complex architectural solutions that align with business requirements, technology strategies
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, frameworks and technologies commonly used in architecture and engineering
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing, microservices architecture, containerization, and other modern architectural patterns and technologies, as well as traditional on-premise architectures
  • Strong scripting or programming skills in languages, such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Python, PowerShell, or Bash with GitHub as its central code repository
  • Experience with Information Security and cloud monitoring tools (LogicMonitor, CloudWatch, AliCloud Security Center)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Education/Qualifications:
  • Proficient in spoken and written English. Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications in architecture and engineering or related fields, such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Alibaba Cloud Professional, or on-premise architecture and certifications from leading technology vendors
