Job Description:

The Technical Design department is recruiting a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions. Candidates must be proficient in Browzwear and Technical Design, with the ability to pattern-correct. Must be able to import patterns from Gerber Accumark into 3D Avatar. Must know how to correct patterns in Browzwear/ Gerber, import them for fitting in Browzwear, and instruct beginning students. This course only runs during the fall semesters.

Adjunct instructors deliver relevant course material, assess student performance, provide guidance and assistance to students both in and out of the classroom, and adhere to all
FIT procedures and policies, including class certifications and recording of grades and assignments in the FIT learning management system. Course descriptions are available in the online catalog .

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 6 years working as a Technical Designer/ Patternmaker with proficiency in Browzwear 3D software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Current Browzwear software knowledge, as well as the ability to pattern-correct.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

The position will be required to constantly read and comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally communicate, frequently analyze and constantly write. The working conditions
for this position will be any combination of classroom, lab, and/or office space. The role requires the use of Browzwear software. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting,
constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs or less.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time position, adjunct teaching position beginning in Fall 2023. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. The department will keep this posting open to create a pool of candidates for potential future adjunct assignments. The department will contact applicants who qualifications fit our programmatic needs.

The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. The hourly rate and appointment rank will be based on education level and cumulative experience.
Starting Rate: $77.43 per hour with step increments per Salary Schedule 97, after one year of service and annually thereafter.
