Position Overview

The Managing Director, in accordance with the Company's global vision and strategy, will have full P&L responsibility and be charged with driving the Company's strategy to manage and grow the business in the country. Key elements of the mission will also include strengthening all retail, business sales, and direct marketing channels, (such as e-commerce), and organizational capabilities. The MD must bring the business acumen and leadership stature to inspire and lead the existing teams and to take the lead in bringing the brand to the next level in Canada. S/he will be a visionary who understands how to maximize sales, gain market and wallet share and leverage business development opportunities throughout the region.

S/he must be able to think strategically while also being hands-on in overseeing the day-to-day execution of the agreed upon strategy with a focus on clients, people and brand desirability. S/he will be open and approachable and will work with both the central team and the local teams in a transparent, united and mutually supportive manner. S/he must understand luxury and serve as a passionate leader in shaping the future of the business and brand experience while creating a dynamic organization that develops clients and drives an exceptional client experience.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy
  • Work closely with Headquarters and Zone leadership team to promote the company's vision.
  • Analyze and assess the changing client demographics and desires in order to identify future growth opportunities throughout the local markets including both local and tourism markets.
  • Bring a truly innovative approach to the current business strategy in order to develop a fully integrated multi-channel business to the country.
  • Formulate and implement a strategy to ensure that the appropriate mix of product is represented and sold within the country.

Sales
  • Manage sales growth, operations, and client development for each channel through direct reports.
  • Drive business through key product pillars
  • Drive client development activities among individual team members to cultivate new and existing clients.
  • Demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role with the teams and managing top client relationships.
  • Ensure Tiffany client experience expectations are being delivered at all times.
  • Take action on TEI performance and client feedback to improve customer service.

Operational Excellence
  • Demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role with the teams and managing top client relationships.

Talent
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the internal team, regional and company headquarters, and key clients through strong interpersonal skills and a hands-on, market-oriented approach.
  • Elevate and hire talent to ensure a winning team and create a best in class service & selling organization.
  • Develop and coach the management team.
  • Manage and motivate the team to consistently achieve or exceed monthly targets.
  • Partner with the Leadership Team to develop and execute a Talent Action Plan
  • Continuously train, coach, develop and provide qualitative feedback, utilizing reward and recognition as well as performance management process to improve team engagement and performance.


Required Qualifications
  • Executive with more than 10 years luxury/consumer goods business management experience.
  • Recent business unit or general management experience with full P&L responsibility
  • Knowledge and experience of luxury/consumer goods including jewelry, apparel, accessories or cosmetics that operates within a multi-channel environment.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • A belief in and an understanding of luxury branded products.
  • Previous successful experience working within a subsidiary.
  • A demonstrated track record of success leading and inspiring retail teams to maximize sales, operating efficiencies, and bottom-line profit.
  • Strong leader with the ability to assess, attract and develop talent.
  • Strong conceptual thinker with a pragmatic approach to driving day-to-day operations.
  • A strong problem solver with an ability to make decisions or drive decision-making.
  • Customer-centric with an ability to drive a unique and consistent customer shopping experience in all stores.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Proven ability to develop new opportunities and maintain client relationships while ensuring brand recognition and penetration in market.
  • English
