Position Overview:
The senior accountant reports to the Finance Manager, analyzes complex financial records and reports, oversees a company's accounting operations, regulates and authenticates financial transactions, and maintains a ledger to ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks and financial data.

The senior accountant reports to the Finance Manager, analyzes complex financial records and reports, oversees a company's accounting operations, regulates and authenticates financial transactions, and maintains a ledger to ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks and financial data.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide financial analysis on income statements and balance sheets against plan and prior year.
- Review expense accounts validating data to understand drivers of cost of operations.
- Record standard journal entries every month, with other entries processed as needed.
- Support Syrus or any other LMVH systems reporting and compliance.
- Supports audits and assists in developing and recommending solutions to accounting or costing issues, if any.
- Review and prepare monthly statistics for local tax filings such as 606, 607, IT1, IR17, TSS, IR3, and Central Bank.
- Measure progress against efficiency targets by cost center by period.
- Special projects and analysis as required by Manager and Facility Manufacturing Management team.
- Monitor the cycle counting and in-transit locations in cooperation with FH teams.
- Support the KPIs/SPH/SVP reporting.
- Support the work center rates review and flagging of changes/updates.
- Collaborates with management to identify accounting variances, provide solutions, and spearhead the implementation of strategic solutions.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to the Account I & II positions.
- Provide support to Periodic internal control review cycles as well as local site compliance matters.
- Draft and implement standard operating procedures for the Finance department.
- Support the FH teams with the setup of standard absorption rates as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5+ years of Accounting or related financial experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and people skills; both verbal and written
- Must be willing to work flexible hours during monthly and year-end closings, as well as for special assignments when business needs require
- Knowledge of corporate taxes (IT1, 606, 607, IR-17, IR-19, etc).
- Fully bilingual (English & Spanish).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of JD Edwards system and other support software/applications.
- CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
- MBA (Master of Business Administration, Finance).
