PURPOSE OF ROLE
16Arlington is seeking a Technical Product Developer with expertise in sustainable innovations to join the product development team. Under the guidance of the Senior Product Developer, this role will support all aspects in the development process, bringing in a fresh perspective that contribute to a sustainably considered collection.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Senior Product Developer to Develop RTW styles within the critical path Establish and maintain a close working relationship with design and atelier to ensure a smooth development of the collection. Source and develop sustainable fabrics, embroideries, and components. Assisting the PD in launching strike-offs, lab dips, embroideries and knit downs, monitoring the development progress Organising, filing, and archiving swatches and raw materials Build strong relationships with suppliers and factories, be reactive to their queries. Ensure product is developed to meet the required aesthetic target margin, and construction is suitable for production capabilities. Create and maintain technical sheets for suppliers and Atelier reference for sampling and ensure technical sheets are prepared for production handover. To ensure there is consistency of garment construction and quality across the collection Keeping style tracker and factory boards up to date. Factory visits when required. Responsible for inputting raw materials and product costing in Zedonk
- QC check and measure garments ahead of handover to Production team and feedback to team accordingly Ensure product is sufficiently resolved ahead of the Production Handover meeting
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 4 years years of experience as a Product Developer/Garment Technologist within luxury brands Strong understanding of garment construction and fit, raw materials, and components Experienced working with manufacturers (Europe and Asia) Ability to work to tight deadlines and follow critical path Experience in fabric sourcing (sustainability focused) at luxury level Experience with large volumes of data entry, ensuring complete detail and accuracy at all time Strong time management and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency Strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy Photoshop and Illustrator knowledge Proficient using Microsoft Excel Efficiency using Zedonk
