Dion Lee is a unisex designer brand, based in New York City. The Dion Lee aesthetic is technical with an intelligent sensuality. Each collection marries innovative construction, with a consciousness of the form. Textiles are engineered to form sculptural embellishments. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Product Developer to join the RTW development team. They will maintain the development process from sketch concept through production handoff. This role reports directly to the Production Director.

PLANNING

  • Develop and manage the Wovens product calendars. Proactively identify exceptions and offer solutions to conflicts in order to meet calendar dates
  • Communicate product calendar deadlines to Design, Workroom Manager, and vendors
  • Continually follow up with vendors to monitor progress
  • Report development progress to production and design and maintain style tracker

DEVELOPMENT

  • Complete a final proof of spec prior to submitting to factory, and ensure that all elements of the handoff are considered: Technical drawing matches instructions; Pattern, cutters must; BOM, if sending materials all trims are also included
  • Work with the technical team to review photo and salesman samples before fittings
  • Troubleshoot issues as arising
  • Maintain meticulous BOMS in Zedonk
  • Handoff BOMS and TP to Pattern Maker to ensure accurate yields in Zedonk
  • Manage collection costings seasonally and report to the team in range reviews
  • Manage range review line sheets
  • Commercialize designs before production handoff
  • Manage vendor invoices as arising
  • Support style development with the Workroom Manager 1-2 weeks before runway or shoot

FITTINGS

  • Follow Proto fittings
  • Follow all SMS fittings
  • Follow all PPS fittings

PRODUCTION HANDOFF

  • Ensure line sheets are accurate and correct before market
  • Ensure all samples are present, pressed and in pristine condition and handed off to the commercial team before market
  • Lead line review and immediately up-date and report any cancellations or additions
  • Adopt all styles from the workroom and launch all PPS with the allocated vendor
  • Actualize yields
