JOB PURPOSE
As a member of the FP&A team, this role is responsible for producing the reporting of the Group's financial results. You will be supporting the Senior Finance Manager, producing both internal management and Board reporting, as well as external financial reporting, including for the Group's, quarterly trading statements, the interim and preliminary announcements.
The role requires a commercial understanding as well as the ability to deliver logical and well thought out analysis. You will continuously seek to improve processes, controls and the quality of deliverables. With a number of stakeholders and competing priorities, it will be necessary to prioritise effectively and communicate clearly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekly Sales Reporting
• Run the weekly sales reports process and distribute to Senior Management
• Prepare sensitivities and "to go" analysis on quarterly comparable sales
Monthly Board Reporting
• Assist with the production of the month end reporting pack (full P&L) and key month end reports
• Assist with drafting of various sections of the monthly Board book
External Announcements
• Co-ordinate sales reporting for the quarterly trading statements, ensuring that all reporting is accurate, timely and fully supported
• Manage quarterly, interim and year-end announcement process including drafting of instructions and management of timetable
• Act as a key point of contact for regions and Investor Relations
• Responsible for management of internal audit process in relation to trading update documents
• Super-user for weekly sales tool (WSAAP) and custodian of data held in the system (footage, like-for-like status, hierarchies etc)
Forecasts and Budgets
• Run the retail sales and store movements budgeting and forecast process; liaising with regions on any queries and communicating store movements to the strategy team
• Assist with preparation of Board materials for forecasts, budgets and rolling forecasts (as required)
• Assist with ad-hoc analysis and data requests
• Assist with Group model for long-term planning
Other
• Responding to a significant amount of ad hoc queries, and analysis as required, prioritising work effectively to ensure that these queries are responded to on a timely basis
• Support with capex approvals and post investment analysis
• Continuously improve the processes, controls and quality of deliverables, challenge current ways of working to make these more efficient and effective
PERSONAL PROFILE
• Qualified accountant ACA/CIMA
• Advanced Excel skills with experience of building and working with complex models and large data sets
• Excellent attention to detail
• Continually seeks to improve, formalise, or make processes more efficient
• Demonstrates a commercial mind-set, and understanding of business
• Ability to build strong relationships, both with the wider Finance team globally and throughout the business
• Financial Reporting and Analysis or similar role or exposure within a large, listed, multinational company
• Experience in application of IFRS
• Experience in analysing gross margin for a global retail brand, an advantage.
• Working within a multi-currency environment; understanding the impact of movements in exchange rates on reported results
• Proven track record of delivering process improvements
• Experience of BPC, an advantage
