Prabal Gurung is growing our Communications team! 

We are seeking an organized, proactive, energetic team player to come on board as the Communications & Marketing Assistant. Please bring your knowledge of public relations, social media, and marketing to support the team objectives of growing the Prabal Gurung brand. You should be able to work independently as well as within a team environment. The scope of this role is broad - public relations, social media,  events, marketing - allowing for the successful candidate to dig into all areas of communications in the world of high-end fashion.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Disseminate press releases to media to support news, product launches, and VIP dressing, while supporting press outreach initiatives including seasonal collection reviews and pitching editorial story coverage
  • Identify, manage, and cultivate editor and stylist relationships
  • Support in the development and upkeep of press, VIP, and influencer target lists
  • Maintain seasonal sample sets and manage both internal and external requests
  • Assess, coordinate, and track all editorial sample loans and VIP dressing requests from initial outreach to final press coverage via Launchmetrics; Coordinating all aspects of sample trafficking 
  • Ensure showroom, sample closet, and archive closets are organized
  • Assist with event organization, logistics and on-site responsibilities, inclusive of Fashion Week presentation and shows, photoshoots, press days, and other red-carpet initiatives, from planning to execution to reporting
  • Coordinate speaking engagements and interview requests
  • Own organic social calendars and posting- organize and schedule digital content and posts and field incoming interdepartmental requests
  • Write and edit copy for digital content 
  • Community manage, monitor, and moderate discussions/comments on social media pages and suggest responses that work with each platform’s best practices
  • Update ecommerce site as needed seasonally, as well as any editorial coverage to best represent the brand
  • Propose and manage digital advertising as needed, i.e. social media, google ads, etc.
  • Review partnership content approvals with a strong understanding of internal brand and legal guidelines
  • Coordinate and assist on production of all ecommerce and editorial shoots including scheduling, sample management, and distributing assets
  • Compile timely reporting and press monitoring, drawing actionable suggestions from various metrics and proposing new ideas
  • Monitor and report on competitor brand activity, as well as culturally relevant events, VIPs, and other tentpole moments
  • Compile and execute internal and external reports as requested
  • Train interns to assist PR office with daily logistic needs


  • Sample trafficking experience either at a fashion brand or on the agency side;
  • Working knowledge of fashion media and experience working with stylists and editors;
  • Strong understanding of and interest in the major social media platforms and their best practices, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc. and scheduling software
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, as well as strong written and verbal skills and professionalism;
  • Appreciation and understanding of the fashion industry;
  • Must be highly organized and able to work in a fasted paced environment; handling several projects at once and meeting tight deadlines;
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented, proactive, and creative, with a strong work ethic and high level of confidentiality;
  • Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office, iWork and Launchmetrics samples, mailings, and reporting, Later or equivalent social media scheduling platform;
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, late nights and weekends

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline
  • One - three years of experience in the fashion industry, marketing, PR or related disciplines preferred
