Job Details
The Fashion Program at Marist College invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer position beginning Fall 2023 in the area of Fashion and Costume History. Primary duties include teaching undergraduate courses for the Fashion program and the Liberal Arts core curriculum. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong analytical and historical knowledge of fashion and costume history, deep knowledge of modern disruptions within the fashion industry, and the ability to bridge history, theory, and practice. In addition, the candidate will demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to all racial, ethnic, religious, and social groups, and incorporate this understanding into teaching and learning experiences.
This position aligns with the School of Communication and the Arts mission to inspire students to be ethically responsible professionals, with an understanding of sustainable and social responsibilities. - Teach multiple sections of ART 281: History of Costume and FASH 381: History of Modern Fashion.
- Meet with students outside of class time for additional instruction as appropriate.
- Engage in a variety of service duties, including school and college committee service, curriculum development and assessment, admissions, and community/industry outreach.
