Maison Margiela is a Paris-based fashion house founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. Celebrating unconventional aesthetics and embracing the philosophy that fashion is an art of expression rather than a cult of personality, Maison Margiela offers haute couture, ready-to-wear for women and men, contemporary line MM6, footwear, interior design, and accessories, including leather goods, fine jewelry and fragrance.
John Galliano was named Creative Director of the house in 2014, bringing his sense of spectacle and creative mastery to the unique ethos of Maison Margiela. Whilst developing his own vision for the house, John Galliano has entirely respected the Martin Margiela state of mind, creating a fascinating organic process.
In 2002, the French house became part of OTB. Along with sister brands of the group, Maison Margiela continues pushing the boundaries of modern fashion while preserving its distinctive identity and heritage.

The Head of Production and Events will have the following Key Responsibilities:

Events/ Shows/ Films
  • Oversee the production and implementation of all global MM and MM6 events, runway shows, films, in-store events, Lookbook & shoot productions (shoot production that is not specifically handled by Digital Team) , supporting the process from conceptualization to execution - including budgets, planning, communication with external vendors/partners).
  • Oversee and manage team of 4-5 for events, production & graphics
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of annual event calendars
  • Supervise event/ film/photo shoot production on site & on location
  • Supervise day-of event/film/photo shoot logistics by internal teams, or external production partner

Team & Collaborator Management
  • Supervise and manage team (internal or external production partner) in planning of film/ show/ event details including but not limited to:
  • Confirming and liaising with Creative teams (based on Creative Director's vision)
  • Oversee Events & Production team to ensure relevant event details are shared with the involved internal and externals teams
  • Oversee MM internal teams to ensure all necessary logistics are confirmed in a timely manner for each event

Season Planning
  • Collaborate & liaise with Creative Director Studio, PR, Digital, Retail/Wholesale, in the planning of events. Keeping in mind the factors including, but not limited to
    • Local events & holidays
    • Competitor conflicting events
    • Product Deliveries
    • Fashion Industry schedules

Lookbooks / Season Ecommerce Shoots
  • Oversee production of seasonal ecommerce lookbook shoots which simultaneously serve as lookbooks

Intl MM Offices
  • Responsible to liaise with Intl MM offices and agencies to provide event guidelines and supervise regional implementation to ensure all aspects of regional execution are in line with brand standards

Budget / Future Season / Annual Planning / Invoicing
  • Oversee, Develop and maintain HQ Events & Production budget, and reforecasting throughout the year
  • Keeping track of budgets and event costs continuously throughout the year, oversee team to make sure all invoices are submitted and PO numbers are established paid in a timely manner, and

Contracts/ Legal
  • Supervising communication with legal department on contracts

Competitive & Industry
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and luxury competitor events, sponsorships, fashion shows and client experiences

Skills and experience
  • Minimum of 12-15 years work experience in the field of Production in the fashion, luxury or lifestyle industry
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing successful events at both the local and international level
  • Strong relationships with local and international vendors related to the implementation of events and shoots
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Team management skills
  • Fluent in English & French
