JOB PROFILE

To lead a team of up to five Coordinators and ensure that payrolls are checked and delivered in accordance with the new delivery template.

Flexible with remote working.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Line manage a team of Payroll Coordinators, setting clear expectations regarding performance and lead on activities which promote colleague development, engagement, and wellbeing
  • Own and be accountable for the completion of team processes and procedures in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with payroll coordinators to ensure that standards across the team are consistent
  • Pro-actively monitor process adherence and compliance
  • Promote the usage and maintenance of process documentation, including desktop procedures, process control documents, process guides
  • Pro-actively monitor adherence to key payroll deadlines and clearly communicate priorities and expectations, e.g. required standards of payroll checks and completion timelines
  • Work with team members to define practical solutions to SLA shortfalls and issues, as well as appropriate responses to operational escalations; use root cause analysis to document findings
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that Minimum Access Controls and accurate recording of process changes/updates is completed, control documentation is accurately logged, in accordance with defined standards
  • Complete regular quality assurance activities (e.g. audits) to monitor compliance and create mechanisms to share learnings and opportunities; escalate to the EMEIA Payroll Manager and other colleagues as required
  • Work closely with the payroll vendors and third parties to ensure that service requirements are fulfilled across all countries
  • Help guide stakeholders on Burberry payroll processes & ways of working and manage team and customer expectations
  • Instil a continuous improvement approach to working practices across the team; support the payroll manager in change strategy and processes and identifying opportunities to offer a value for money service to the business
  • Keep up to date with changes in key relevant legislation across the EMEIA landscape
  • Proactively use analytics and data management to quantify workloads (volumes and prioritisation) and monitor accuracy levels; share insights with the EMEIA Payroll manager regularly to identify areas of opportunity and risk
  • Accountable for compliance with data privacy and security legislation across all areas of payroll delivery
  • Assists in the improvement of KPIs across all aspects of HR/Payroll service


PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Strong team management experience; ability to create and foster a positive work environment that encourages team members to identify and recommend improvements and input ideas in an inclusive manner
  • Extensive payroll process knowledge and experience across EMEIA, including statutory and compliance environment
  • Experience in successfully liaising with third party vendors / outsourced payroll delivery model
  • Self-disciplined with a strong attention to detail and drive for compliance and consistency in processes and approach
  • Proven track-record of building strong / successful business stakeholder relationships, including influencing, recognising stakeholder needs and providing recommendations/avenues on meeting them
  • Ability to monitor and prioritise workloads on daily basis
  • Ability to influence seamless working across departments enshrined by leadership
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate with team members and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrate solution-based approach - aim to understand what others try to achieve; exercise empathy to understand their challenges/difficulties and drive solutions 
  • Demonstrates a business partnering approach including working closely with stakeholders outside of the payroll function to understand business priorities
  • Demonstrate strong partnership ethic and seamlessly engage with colleagues across all teams to positively pursue solutions and enhance colleague / customer experience 
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement approach to working practices with the aim of elevating colleague experience and implementing efficiencies
