Position Overview
Ralph Lauren seeks an Inventory Control Analyst to join our Financial Operations organization working within team responsible for maintaining integrity, efficient flow and accurate reporting for all inventory and closely related ledgers. The successful candidate will have at least 1-3+ years progressive responsibility within an accounting or financial operations team with a focus on physical inventory flow transactions, reporting and systems, with strong preference for a multi-location experience within an inventory driven retail or consumer goods organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Works within a team while demonstrating respect for RL corporate values
* Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies within store and DC locations
* Communicate and report findings on inventory level at the store and DC locations
* Build effective camaraderie with retail operations, distribution center operations and accounts payable teams
* Monitors and acts on assigned daily inventory integrity tasks from SAP, Island Pacific, MicroStrategy and Yoobic (and other related tools) providing summary of actions taken as well was requesting approval for escalated tasks
* Supports reporting on semi-annual physical and cycle counts in all store locations and build reporting to provide meaningful global feedback
* Contributes to maintaining key operational KPI / performance metrics of Ralph Lauren and self and takes actions to positively impact these indicators
* Contributes to thought-provoking opportunities to improve the costing process to enhance effective / efficiency
* Completes assigned month-end financial closing tasks and provides requested data for periodic forecasts
* Responsible for timely and supported responses to internal and external audit requests and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance controls
* Completes ad hoc analysis as assigned

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* BS degree, Accounting, Engineering, or another closely related data based business application
* 1-3+ years progressive responsibility on inventory integrity, flows, transactional systems and reporting within a retail or consumer goods environment
* Works comfortably with large data sets utilizing query, reporting and summarization features within Excel / BI tools
* Partners with team members to complete thought-provoking assignments in accordance with RL corporate values
* Contributes to root cause analysis, including self-critical observations, to provide constructive feedback and opportunities for improvement
* Builds effective relationships and engage in healthy conflict to resolve challenge areas across levels and stakeholders in the organization to influence change
* Demonstrates some knowledge / experience with inventory / accounting systems like: SAP (preferred), Oracle JDE, Microsoft AX and Island Pacific
* Communicates clearly and timely on key challenges for management to take timely actions
