Job Overview:

This director-level role will help elevate Bloomingdale's brand voice, shaping content and copy strategy as well as top editing the team's weekly emails and site assets. Proactive and full of ideas, the ideal candidate is a natural storyteller who will lead seasonal campaigns, and help translate it across all channels (print, digital, and social). This individual can think big picture while maintaining a laser-focused eye on the details, and always prioritizes the customer experience.

Essential Functions:
  • Conceptualize 360° campaign ideas from video to in-store activations, and top edit copy
  • Edit weekly emails, site assets, and paid media
  • Oversee social content and partner with the ACDs to plan the monthly calendar
  • Manage 3 direct reports: copy manager home, copy manager RTW, sr. copywriter
  • Accountable for developing a team of writers, helping them hone their work, and reducing edits
  • Elevate overall brand voice so it is informative, original, and reflective of how people shop today
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to Bloomingdale's copy standards
  • Maintain high standards for writing and proofreading

Qualifications and Competencies:

We encourage candidates with either a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply
  • 7-10+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong background in campaign concepting, either at an agency or in-house at a brand
  • Keen understanding of copy needs by medium (digital media, catalog, email, site, outdoor, ROP, etc.)
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presents information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically
