Position Overview
Ralph Lauren seeks a senior accountant to join our Inventory Accounting/ Financial Operations team. The role is positioned within the team responsible for accounting, reporting and auditing of inventory flows and closely related activities. This role will also work with cross functional partners, FP&A teams and with our RTR team.This position will report into the senior manager of inventory accounting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Key partner in month-end close procedures
* Prepare GL balance sheet reconciliations
* Prepare journal entries
* Ability to analyze GL and present findings concisely and in a meaningful way/ maintain the integrity of assigned GLs
* Purchase price variance forecasting and reporting
* Assist with internal SOX testing and external audit quarterly and annual testing
* Expert in chart of accounts, provide coding and basic troubleshooting with journal entry coding when needed
* Assist in preparation of financial reporting package schedules
* Support shared-service accounting functions where/ when needed
* Maintain Goods Receipt Invoice Receipt accounts under direction of manager
* Process customs duty invoices

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* 3-5 years progressive accounting or financial operations experience required (inventory accounting and/or reporting responsibilities within an inventory driven retail or consumer goods organization)
* 1-2+ years audit experience in a mid-size or "big-4" firm preferred
* SAP or similar ERP system experience preferred
* Blackline or similar reconciliation solution experience preferred
* Strong excel skills required
* Concise/ professional communication skills required
* CPA/ CPA track not necessary, but a plus
