JOB PURPOSE

Ensuring the development and engineering of Jewellery, Leathergoods Metal Hardware , and Trim (Zip, metal reinforcement, plastic profile, etc).
The person will guarantee functional requirements, quality and compliance standards are met. Ensure that Jewellery, Metal Hardware and Trim are bought at a competitive price.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To ensure all engineering activities are well executed in according to risk assessment, development & testing and cost engineering;
• To lead the technical development through engineering and advance technology in order to reach target costs and build a strong production process;
• To use technical expertise planning volume allocation in order to empowering the negotiation of Metal Hardware costs;
• To lead the team in managing Suppliers in order to be compliant with company standards and encouraging continuous improvement;
• To Provide technical support to design and product development teams;
• To manage and ensure up-to-date reporting on product technical information;
• To ensure regulatory compliance is met;
• To oversee supplier performance through building a strong relationship with them;
• To collaborate in the implementation of technical standards;
• To build relationships with external entities to keep you up to date on technology, process and product progress;
• To develop a strong collaboration with other teams;
• To keep up to date with government regulations, restrictions, safety protocols and performance standards in relation to jewellery, hardware and trim;
• To train the team to identify any technical issues relating to Jewellery &Hardware development and to reach a timely solution;
• To collaborate with and support procurement processes;
• To prevent production slowdown.

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Degree in Materials Technology or Engineering;
• Several years' of experience in manufacturing;
• Experience in leading a technical development team in the luxury industry;
• Experience in working closely with design (designer);
• Deep Knowledge on metal hardware & jewellery design and construction;
• Timely, strong, customer focused decision making;
• Expert Knowledge of galvanic PVD and other processes;
• Strong communication skills both in Italian and in English;
• Strong leadership;
• Deep Knowledge Metal Hardware Supplier capability.
