Marketing strategists at On seek to deeply understand our communities - their motives, passions, and behaviors. They are focused on using that knowledge to maximize the impact of our marketing in the world.
In the case of the Marketing Strategist, Apparel Focus, this understanding crosses our communities - including what products, events, people, and content matter to them at any given moment. But it has a particular focus on how apparel fits into their lives - performance, self-expression, and everything in between. This expert knowledge then powers the development of marketing strategies, creative briefs, and media strategies that ensure we're connecting with our communities and driving our apparel business.
This position is based in Zürich, Switzerland, Berlin, Germany, or London, England.
Make us more relevant: You have a deep understanding of the apparel landscape, our communities and target audiences, supported by research - desk, digital and field. You use this understanding to identify where we won't just reach these groups, but truly build connections that deliver on long term and short term ambitions. This means truly understanding why a person makes apparel choices, so we can better serve them through marketing, content, and experiences.
Make us more insightful: You understand our business. How we are positioned, the competitive landscape and how the apparel space is evolving. You understand how to read and interpret business data and can have bigger picture discussions that bring together evolving business needs with what's going on in the real world, with real people. You think about this in the context of who we need to reach, what our message needs to be, and where we need to reach them to drive the business.
Make us more integrated: You are able to see the whole picture across our communities, how it connects to apparel, and to bring it to life for the teams.. That means partnering with team members to build customer journeys that consider all the different points of entry the brand can build - from digital channels to physical experiences - and choosing the right ones for the task at hand.
On emphasizes hands-on skills across all departments. For this role, we're looking for an individual who excels in doing qualitative and quantitative research that will unearth unique insights around our communities relationship to apparel - both in the field and at their desk. But they should also be equally comfortable building the annual plans that map out what we do when, and why, to reach and engage these communities with our apparel offering. That involves connecting brand, product, content, and activation efforts into one seamless journey.
We are looking for individuals ready to quickly ramp-up on new industries and business models, define goals, competition and target audiences, and deliver valuable recommendations that have the power to transform the brand. Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and build trust with empowered decision-makers is essential.
Experience as a brand strategist, connections strategist, communications strategist - or other discipline that reflects a similar skill set is extremely valued. Ideally, the candidate will have at least 7 years of working experience in these or similar roles. They should be fluent in English and have a working background in apparel marketing, either at a sportswear brand, in the fashion industry, or at an agency that specializes in the topic.
You see yourself as a collaborative person, and understand the value of strong opinions, healthy debate, and the need to move forward as a team. You bring your experience to the conversations, as well as your passion and knowledge. You should be comfortable collaborating with creatives on building ideas, activations, and campaigns.
